You are such a tease about Story’s husband!!! I’m loving it, it is definitely a pick me up that I needed today. I want to ask what happens when EVERYONE has the flu because that’s what’s going on in my house right now.
Oh no! I hope you get to feeling better 🖤

Of course the first one to get sick was your germaphobe husband. You had quarantined Ransom to the bedroom while you tried to get the kids situated and off to school. Coming back home to find Ransom all curled up and snuggly on the bed, "I'm dying, Kitten," is the only thing he can get out.
"Aw, my poor little baby," your voice coos down to him. You lay down on the bed, and spend most the morning just petting along his face. Brushing his hair out of his eyesight. Even though he feels terrible he still has the most handsome face you had ever seen. With four kids, it's very rare that you get to just relish in your husband. "You gonna let mommy take good care of you."
He nods his head with his bottom lip puckered out, but then stops to peer up at you, "If you could stop with your sexy talk that would be great," you giggle at him, but continue on making sure he's comfortable.
"Come on baby. You need to sit up and take some medicine."
"Don't want to."
"Ran," your voice whines, "You're worse than the kids. Just sit up, take your medicine, and drink your water," reluctantly he obeys. Settling back down, you turn on your favorite comfort show, relaxing back to hold your sweet baby.
Not long into the episode you get a call from the school, "Mrs. Drysdale, Aster said she's not feeling too well, and Blade has a low grade fever. Story seems to be fine, but she's saying her head is hurting."
"I said," you hear the dramatic voice of your daughter, "that my head is aching. It feels like someone is stabbing me over and over. Could you just tell my mom to come and get me?"
You sigh, giving Ransom a quick kiss. His body still curled up in a ball, not even realizing you're going anywhere. Might as well just pick up all the kids. Stopping at the drugstore so you can get some more medicine just in case, water, Gatorade, soup, crackers, whatever you can think of. Thankfully you were smart enough to get some easy meals, because later it hits the entire household. "You guys stay away from Grandpa. He can't handle all this sickness."
Marta already been contacted that everyone was running fevers, including yourself. All the kids needing some extra TLC it was just easier to set up beds in yours and Ransom's bedroom. "I get to sleep in your bed right?" Story asks her dad, her eyes as big as saucers.
"I really don't care who sleeps in the bed with us," he regrets that quickly when the rest of the kids come piling in the bed with you. Two eleven-year-olds, one eight-year-old, and an almost six-year-old cramming into the bed with you.
"This really isn't that comfortable."
"Well no one said you had to get in here with me."
"Can I not just go get in my own bed."
"I really don't feel good."
"Would all of you just shut up?"
"Quit touching me."
"I wasn't touching you, you were touching me."
"I see my life flashing right before my very eyes. Do you see it Blade? There it goes."
You flop down on the bed somewhere, making it an even tighter fit, while all these kids are arguing about touching or feeling bad, "Would everyone please just stop?" you start to shout, stopping only because you start to cough. "If you're uncomfortable, you're more than welcome to sleep on the palettes I made. If you want to go to your room, nobody is telling you not to. But for the love of my sanity, just hush."
"Mommy?" Story asks, followed by groans from everyone. "Can we watch the Princess Bride?"
"Ran, start her movie," with his eyes closed he grabs for the remote, clicking on the TV and starting Story's favorite movie. Even though everyone had groaned, they all start to settle. "Thank you baby for making us buy the biggest bed possible."
"Don't get too used to this guys. This is only when you're sick kind of thing."
"Story, get off!" Aster whisper shouts.
"Nope, the next person who touches anyone, gets to get in the floor on their palette. There's six of us in this bed, someone is going to be touching someone.

Can you give us a sweet and ridiculous Ransom teaching kids how to ride a bike 🥺🥺🥺
🥺😫 Ransom just being the sweetest and most ridiculous father has my whole heart. He loved being hands on with all the kids, for everything...well almost everything. And we know his kids get a lot of his dramatics, and even stubbornness from him. So we're going to break this up into five parts.

“Daddy, you won’t let me fall?” Iris looks up at Ransom with her sweet blue green eyes, and back down to her bike with no training wheels.  “I don’t want to fall.”
“Ris, it’s okay,” James gives her handlebars a quick tap, and looks back to Ransom.  “I’ll fall on the ground first, if you think she’s going to fall.”
“She won’t fall, James,” Ransom groans, rolling his eyes.  “Angel, do you think daddy would let you get hurt?” She shakes her head no, putting her feet on the pedals.  “James, stay there.  You’re only going to distract her.  Come on,” he starts out at a steady walk with her, picking up a bit more speed.  “It’s the same thing as with the training wheels.”
“This is easy,” she giggles.  Wanting to go a bit faster, she pedals with more vigor.  “You can let go now, daddy,” he gives a quick look back at you, refusing to take his hands off the bars.  “Daddy, let me go.  I got this.”
He drops his hands, having tears in his eyes as she pedals around a bit more.  Yelling out in joy.  “Kitten!” His hands point over at Iris.  “She was…and then…I had to let her go,” with Blade on your hip you walk over to him, to kiss on his cheek.  “Make her come back to me.  She’s pedaling around with that bonehead.”
“Ran, go help Azzie.”
He looks back at his usually confident daughter who was biting her nails.  Watching her sister, shaking her head, “No.  I won’t do it.”
“You don’t have to,” your husband says, and gets a quick slap to his stomach.  “What?”
“You have a son you’ll have to do this with, and this dramatic girl,” you rub along your belly, reminding him of yet another child on the way.
“But they’re my babies, and Iris.  Iris!  Baby are you okay?” He runs over to Iris who had crashed into a hedge, but James was already helping her up, even dusting off her shorts, “Kitten!”
“Ransom, you're freaking Azzie out.  Help her.”
“My baby, daddy.  Dis my baby,” Blade rubs on your stomach with you, and Ransom gives the both of you a kiss before running towards Aster who pushes his hands off her bike.
“She fell.”
“I know, little star, but…”
“She fell all the way on the ground, and you…you weren’t even watching her properly, and you want me to ride a bike. No.  I won’t do it.  I won’t,” when he looks back at you, you wave your hand, encouraging him to try.  “Daddy, you let her go.”
“She asked me to.  Trust me, I didn’t want to.”
“Will it hurt?  If I fall?”
“It may.”
“Will you pick me up if I fall?” Ransom nods his head smiling, grabbing her handlebars.  “If I fall do I have to try again?”
“Yes, baby, you need to keep trying.
“Daddy, I’m scared.”
“I’ve always got your back, Azzie.  Daddy will always be here for you, no matter what.  No matter how big you get.  Even if you don’t live with me, daddy will always have your back.  I am your biggest fan.  And you,” He points over at Carter, “Do not move.  Let her get going on her own.”
“Yes, Mr. Drysdale,” he says, putting his kickstand down.  Lydia and Gregory didn’t want Carter to get dirty, or break a bone, so they refused to buy a bike, Ransom got him one anyways.  Even taught him how to ride.  “Mr. Drysdale, I just want to tell Azzie, she’s got this.”
Just like before Ransom pushes her along.  Starting to jog when Aster reaches her hands around his neck and picks her feet up off the bike.  Swinging her body on him, “Daddy, I’m not ready.  Please, don’t make me.  I don’t want to get hurt,” her legs wrap around Ransom’s waist, and she looks up at him pouting, “I just don’t wanna do this.”
“Why, sweetheart?”
“Because…I won’t need you anymore,” she wraps her hands around him tightly, shaking her head.  “Don’t make me.”
“I won’t if you really don’t want me to.  If you really don’t want to learn, it’s not that big of a deal, but I hope you know that this won’t be the last time you need me.”
“Daddy, I’m scared,” he could hear the crack in her voice, and starts walking away with her still attached to him.  “You won’t make me?”
“Azzie, you tell me you don’t want to do anything, and you won’t have to.  Same with anyone else.  You get to decide what you’re going to do.”
“So in school?”
“That’s different.  You don’t have to learn to ride a bike.  Although, I think you’d have fun.  But if you really don’t want to.”
“But won’t I get hurt?”
“Az, if I could protect you from everything that was going to hurt you both physically and here,” he gives a tap over her heart.  “I would.  Daddy doesn’t want you to ever hurt, but hurt is also what helps you grow and learn.  Don’t be afraid of getting hurt.”
“If I don’t want you to let me go you won’t?”
“Never.  I want to hold onto you forever.”
“Maybe another time then.  Can I get on my scooter instead?” He nods his head, and Aster gives him a kiss to his nose that scrunches up.  Running off to get her scooter, and Aster Drysdale never learned to ride a bike.
——
“Alright, Bladey, you ready?”
“No,” Ransom laughs, shaking his head.  “I don’t…don’t, don’t like this.  Mom…mom, mommy?”
“Eh,” he warns him, tapping on his new custom Buzz Lightyear bike.  “Remember what the deal was to get this?”
“Take…take, take it back.  I don’t…don’t, don’t want it.”
“Buddy, look.  Look right here at daddy,” Blade turns his face to squint up at Ransom.  “Would I ever let you get hurt on purpose?”
“Yes.”
“Blade!  No, I wouldn’t.  I laugh when everybody trips, even your mom, once I know you guys are okay.  But I’m not going to push you down the stairs, am I?” He shakes his head no, and looks out onto the driveway, shrugging.  “Buddy, you can do it, if you really want to.  And I know you do.  It’ll feel like flying.”
“You sure?”
“Not really, no, but it does feel cool.”
“Daddy!” Ransom gives him a knock on his helmet, and gives him a chuckle.  “Can…can, can I get snuggles with mom…mom, mommy if I get hurt?”
“Of course.  You ready?” Placing his feet on the pedals he nods his head, letting Ransom push him.
“Faster!” He squeals, and Ransom sets off on a quick run.  “Let go!” As soon as he does, Blade loses balance, and falls to the ground.  Glaring back at his dad.
“Blade, what were you doing?  You didn’t try.”
“I figured out the math to it.  I think so, but it didn’t work.”
“Blade, you’re six.  This isn’t math, this is riding a bike.  Pedal when I let go,” furrowing his brow, he determines he’s going to get it.  “Don’t think too hard, you’re going to hurt yourself.  Just go with it, okay?”
“Okay,” trying like they left off, he screams at his dad to let go, and he starts peddling.  A bit wobbly at first, but he’s able to get it. Able to go faster, and turn.  Taking off when you walk up to Ransom, handing him a toddler Story, and she reaches for his ring finger.  Wrapping her hand around it.
“Ransom…”
“Nope, I had to deal with that with Iris.  Just because he’s the baby boy, I don’t want to see any tears,” he doesn’t even look at you.  He knows you were struggling to let him go, “Come here,” he groans, pulling you into him, and wrapping his arm around your shoulders.  “He’s doing good.”
“I was hoping he would run into my arms.”
“Kitten, it doesn’t work like that.  We gotta learn when to let them go.”
——
“Story, what are you doing?” Ransom asks as his daughter places a princess bunny in her basket.  “Back.  Go back and change.”
“Daddy,” she whispers, bringing him down closer to her, “Sir Lancelot is here, I must prove that I am the Princess of Boston.”
“Well, Princess Story book.  Your tiara is blocking the way for your helmet.  You are not wearing a dress to ride a bike, and I want sneakers on your feet,” she clutches at her chest gasping, “Story Rose Drysdale, go change.”
“This is not how the Princess of Boston should be treated,” she dramatically yells as she stomps up the steps to change.  “I will still wear pink, and my bunny is staying in her basket!”
Rolling his eyes, Ransom looks up at the sky, hearing you giggle behind him, and then snort.  Spinning around he sees Carter, “You take that back!”
“I thought the Princess would like a surprise when she came back, Mr. Drysdale.  And I can’t put the rose back on the bush,” blowing out a huff of air, he gestures to Carter to come forward, letting him place the white rose next to her bunny.
Ransom, annoyed, watches his daughter come down the steps still in a dress, “I have shorts on underneath.  Grandpa said I could.  Oh!  Where did this come from?” She smiles up at Ransom after she spots the rose.  He points towards Carter, causing Story to look down at it, too embarrassed to look at him anymore.  Ransom turns back to pout at you.
“Story, I think daddy has waited long enough.  Hop on,” you walk closer to her, whispering only for her to hear, “Make sure Sir Lancelot knows that you’re worthy of that rose,” she gives you that megawatt smile, throwing a leg over her bike.
“I don’t think I wanna know.”
“Shh, it’s mine and mommy’s secret.  Let’s go daddy,” his head tilts towards you quickly.
“Ransom!”
“She’s the last,” you give him a little shrug and smirk as you walk away, and he gets a devilish grin.  He was too easy, “Alright, Princess Story book, are you ready?” She nods quickly, but screams at him.  “What?”
“Is the rose going to be okay?”
“How many roses has that bonehead given you?”
“They’re special roses daddy.  They’re my roses.  Grandpa had them planted before I was born.  They have special powers that will help protect me and guide me through my journey through the kingdom.  You know the Black Knight is out there somewhere, and must thwart him so he doesn’t interfere in taking me away from Prince Charming.”
“Your grandpa really made sure you had a colorful speech pattern.  You’ve got the rose, got the princess bunny, got your dress, are you ready?”
“Yes!  Onward King of the castle,” dramatically she leans forward to look as if she was gaining speed.  Getting comfortable too easily, and not even realizing that Ransom had already taken his hands off her bike as she rides around.  “I shall name this bike Nimue!  My gallant steed.  Daddy?” She puts a foot down, stopping abruptly, and turns back to look at him.  “Why did you let me go?”
“You and your gallant steed were speeding away without me.”
“But…you let me go, and you didn’t tell me.  I had to discover it, because I didn’t see your ring gleam in the sun rays.  That was not funny.”
“Story book,” he chides.  “You did just fine.”
“But you let me go.  You just poof, and you were gone.  Why?”
“You were determined to pull away, and you were ignoring everything I said because you were talking to yourself.”
“It was a story!”
“Yes, princess.  You need me to push you again?” Her smile beams off her face as she tries to get started again.
“Now I can go riding with Iris, James, Aster, Blade, and Carter!  Bye daddy!”
“Wait!  I didn’t…Kitten!”
“Ransom, I can’t solve everything.  You did let her go.”
——
“No,” Lucy pushes the traditional bike away, her hand still reaching for one without pedals.  “I want that one.
“It doesn’t even make sense.  How is that supposed to work?”
“You just,” she kicks her foot like she was on a scooter, and tries to get on the bike.
“What’s daddy going to have to do?”
“Nothing.  I don’t need you to do anything for me.  I just need you to let go.  It’s time for you to let go now, don’t you think so?”
“No!” He kneels down, and pulls her hands in his.  “No, it is not time.  You are my last.  I don’t think your mom is giving me another one.”
“I’m not,” you tell him, leaning back in the sun.  “We’re about to be grandparents.  And Lucy waited long enough, didn't you baby?” She nods her head looking up at Ransom.
“Because I didn’t want her to grow too fast.”
“Mama, can I scoot around now?”
“Yes, Luciana.  Ran, come here.  Sit down with me,” He slumps down on the front porch steps.  Leaning over on your shoulder as he pouts at Lucy, “You were the one that didn't’ want to teach her.  She showed you.”
“I wanted to savor it.”
“Baby, hopefully all our kids have babies.  And we’ll get to make memories with them as well.  We’ve had twenty-one years of raising these babies.  Enjoy that this one was easy.”
“Easy?  Lucy?  Lucifer?” You give him a quick swat to his stomach telling him to leave your baby alone, “Can we have another?”
“No.”
“But look at her, she doesn’t have any kids to play with her.  It’s not fair.”
“She’s the same age Story was when she was born.”
Throwing his head back he groans.  Remembering each time that he taught his kids to ride a back.  Could almost hear the panic in Aster’s voice, the determination in Iris’s, the intimidation in Blade’s, and even the whimsiness of Story’s.  Lucy was aloof, and marched to a beat of her own crumbs.
“We can’t keep them babies forever.”
“Why?” He demands, watching Lucy scream with her laughs.  “I want them to be.”
“I didn’t enjoy the diapers.”
“Our baby is…I can’t even say it, Kitten.”
“Then don’t,” you give him a soft kiss, and turn back to look at Lucy.  “We had to let them go at some point, daddy.”
“Well, I don’t like it.  I want them all Lucy’s age right now.”
“I know you do, baby.  I would do it, if I could.  But instead, kiss me, and let’s watch our fifth.  The one that is all Drysdale.”
“Shh, let's not talk about her getting older, and enjoy it, okay?”
“Okay,” you let him lay on your chest, and scratch the back of his head.  “I love our life, Ran.”
“I love our family, Kitten.”

I know Azzie and Icy come in a package but I also know Icy was the biggest daddy’s girl when they were babies. My heart clenches whenever I think of a bright-eyed baby girl just thinking her daddy is the greatest person in the whole world. Is it okay to request to see Icy and Daddy’s day throughout the years? Like with no Azzie or any siblings, just Ran and Iris doing their thing 😹
Icy was such a daddy's girl. Azzie and Ransom were just alike, so she went to him for advice and stuff, but Icy just thought her daddy hung the moon! She did go to Frank quite a bit, especially if she just needed some alone time. Like they could just be out on the boat. But Ransom and Iris had such a tender relationship. And to think that Ransom was so scared of Iris at first, because biologically she wasn't his, and he knew he would get attached, and Andy could take her away from him.

Iris lays on the floor in the hall, her head peeking under the door, while her fingers wiggle around letting out her whispered, “Dada,” waiting on Ransom to finish his shower that has taken too long for Iris.
He giggles seeing her little fingers moving around under the door, “Dada?” she whispers again.
“Icy?”
“Dada done?”
“Let me get dried off,” he responds, trying to dry off as quickly as possible. Adding just a bit of his cologne before he bursts through the door.
“Dada” even Iris’s squeals are almost whispered as she claps her hands reaching up towards her dad. “Dada, hold you!”
He leans over to pick his sweet girl up and throws her up in the air. “Icy what am I going to do with you? You can hardly stand being away from me.”
“Icy loves dada,” her blue green eyes pouts up at Ransom, and he just holds on to her tighter. “Dada love Icy?”
“Always, you are my Angel, right?”
____________________________________________
“Daddy, help me put it on,” she holds up a miniature baby carrier to him. “I want to hold my baby like you hold Story.”
He goes to strap the carrier on, and she stuffs her little baby doll in it, giving her a sweet kiss on the head. “How come you always want to hold your babies? You did with Blade, too. Did you do it with me?”
“First off,” he starts picking Iris up to sit in his lap. “I enjoy carrying my babies, because your mom already carried you guys enough. Now it’s my turn. I like holding my babies because you need me.”
“For ouchies?”
“Yes, ouchies is one thing. But also, you feel safe when you’re with me right?” she gives her daddy a nod, and leans over on his shoulder. “And you like when daddy tickles you right?”
“No, I do not. I can’t breathe. I don’t like it.”
“What about when daddy cooks?” she shakes her head no and giggles. Ransom stares at her flabbergasted. “You like taking long naps with me.”
“I like to sleep, and your comfortable.”
“God, I remember when you were just this tiny thing. And you just wanted to lay on my chest. That little bitty hand would rub on the back of my neck. You made a mess of my hair, but I think it soothed you,” Iris stares up at him so content, and getting tears in her eyes.
“It did soothe me.”
“Grandpa said that you would fall asleep to the beat of my heart. Baby, why’re you crying?” Ransom doesn’t want to laugh, but he giggles to try and make things a bit more lighthearted. Seeing Iris cry usually gets him in his emotions as well.
“I miss it. Being the baby,” he gives her a hard kiss to her cheek. “Not like Azzie. I love my babies. But, I miss it.”
“Trust me, I do, too. If I could keep you this little thing forever I would. But there’s fun in getting older. You can talk to me and carry on conversations.”
“I can play with Jamey more,” Ransom’s face falls flat but Iris giggles. “Daddy, he smells like peaches, and I like it.”
“I need his mom and dad to change his shampoo or something. Peaches?” Iris nods her head at him. “We gotta find you a new best friend.”
“I’m good.”
_____________________________________________
“Daddy?” Iris stands in her dad’s office door, her awkwardly wiggling around when she looks at him. “Can I talk to you? With the door closed?”
Ransom gets nervous at the last part. Usually closed door conversations are reserved for his wife. He gives her a nod, and she walks into his office, pacing around before she sits down. “I have a plan. I want to graduate, go to Harvard law, marry Jamey, and have a family. You know this.”
Ransom takes a deep breath, positive that he isn’t ready for what’s next. “Would it be so bad, if we changed the order?”
“Angel, please don’t tell me you’re pregnant.”
“No…but…he’s gonna be gone a lot. And I want a piece of him here with me. Would it be so bad if I got pregnant like…I don’t know the end of my senior year. And then…daddy, I’m gonna miss him. I’ve never been without him, and if I had his baby, it’ll be like he’s with me right?”
Ransom let’s her words sink in. Showing no emotions as he processes what she’s telling him. He understands her thought process, and that makes this so much harder. “Raising a baby alone isn’t easy. I feel like you’re just trying to fill a void with a baby, and you know yourself, you’ll want to be so hands on, but you’ll want to finish college quickly.”
“But Jamey and I…it’s gonna happen. Why do we need to wait?”
“I know it’s gonna happen Icy. God, I’ve known that my whole life.”
The tears Iris had been holding in, pushes past her lashes, and all she wants is have her dad to hold her. “You think it’s a terrible idea.”
“What do you and James think?” Iris sits silent, just shaking her head while she wipes her tears away. “Come here, angel,” he opens his arms wide, and lets her walk over to him. Her chin on his shoulder, while her fingers still play with his hair.
“You haven’t mentioned this to him?”
“I wanted to ask you first.”
“I’m not thrilled. But sweetheart, your future will be your responsibility. If you choose to get pregnant, James will be wherever, while you’re here raising a child. You could marry him and move on base, but you would be away from Harvard. And alone with a baby. Parenting isn’t easy. Something like this, I can’t tell you what to do. I can tell you, I will support you, I will be there, and I will help you. But this is something you talk with James about.”
“What…what if…something happens, and I miss my chance to be a mom, or a wife. Daddy there’s just him. I’ve never looked at someone and even thought about them in that way. It’s always been James. And if something happens, I don’t want to move on.”
Ransom very rarely becomes speechless. He did in that moment. Realizing his seventeen-year-old is planning more than a prom, preparing for more than college, but instead is terrified that the love of her life won’t come home to her.
“Daddy, say something.”
“Iris Jade Drysdale, I highly doubt there’s anything you could do that would make me not be proud of you. Because you will make sure to put your all in it. And I have no doubt, that you, my beautiful sweet daughter, are going to be an amazing mom. Whether you’re pregnant now, or you don’t have children for five more years. I’m not telling you to do this. I’m telling you…I’ll never be ready for you to have kids.”
He takes a deep breath, rubbing his hand up and down her back. “It’s this bittersweet thing. I want you to stay young forever, but I can’t. So now, I live with the fact that you and that stupid Bonehead will have kids. It’s inevitable. But don’t rush your lives because you feel you have to. Have a baby because that’s what you really want and when you want. Not because he’s home from basic training.”
“I’m not saying I will…” her fingers twirl his hair around and she sits up, fully looking at him. “But if I do, you won’t be mad?”
“Iris, I’m not going to be happy about my daughter pregnant in high school. Let me make that perfectly clear. I’m not going to ground you, I’m not going to take away your car or anything like that. I’m going to support you because I know how much you love Tweedle Dee.”
“I really do.”
“Talk with James. And you and him make the decision. Because it’s you and him that going to have to deal with the outcome of that decision. Okay?”
She leans to give him a kiss to his cheek. “I love you. Thanks.”
“You’re welcome, angel. I love you, so much. And I hate that you’re thinking about these things. Quit thinking so much.”
______________________________________________
Iris curls up into her dad, on one of the seats in the theater room. One of James’ favorite movies, but it’s just background noise. She clings to him, as steady flows of tears drift down her cheeks.
This had become routine for Iris and Ransom. Everyday, they watch one of James’ favorite movies while he holds her. Trying to reassure her that he was coming home. That he would be able to hold her and Posie.
Iris wanted to believe it. With each passing day it becomes harder. Every movement and kick that Posie makes, it becomes harder. Each day that she talks to Steve, and she hears James’ voice, it becomes harder. Everyday is a constant battle.
She rubs her hands over her bump and is thankful that at least she has Posie. That everyday she wakes up a piece of James is always with her. When she talks to her bump every night, she remembers sweeter moments with James.
There is no part of her life that she remembers doing without him. And she doesn’t want to start now. “Daddy, I miss him.”
“I know. I do, too.”
“Really?” she chokes out a laugh. “You miss him now?”
“I miss how easily he made you smile,” Iris buries her face deeper in Ransom’s chest. “I miss how he could turn any dull party or get together into something fun. I miss how he always included your little siblings. Like it was never a question. I miss him helping out around the house. Never complained, just did it. I miss how he lifted you up, he protected you. I know you think I hate him, but I never have. I have just always hated how he was taking you from me.”

Ransom walks into James and Iris's house, and Posie comes running at him as fast as her little legs with carry her, "Papa!" he leans over to pick her up, and spins her around gently. "You came!"
"Of course I did pumpkin, I couldn't miss seeing my best girl."
Posie tilts her head to the side giving Ransom a serious look, "Mimi is your best girl."
"Your right," he whispers in her ear before giving her cheek a kiss. "Where's your mom?" he asks setting her down on the floor.
"Hers in the kitchen. Come on," she pulls at Ransom's hand, trying to drag him into the kitchen.
"Hey, Angel," he gives his daughter a quick kiss on her temple. How are ya?" he gives her a sorrowful smile, wishing that things were different. Wishing that his family was one unit again, and wishing that his sweetest daughter didn't feel so left out.
"I'm managing. Posie, why don't you go gather the thing you made to show Papa?" the little girl runs off to her room, and Iris looks at her dad, "Please don't bring her up."
"I wasn't, you did. But if you want to talk about it we can. If not, I don't really care. Just wanted to see you and Posie," he gives her a big smile, but she rolls her eyes. "What?"
"Mom's right. You're ridiculous."
"What did I do wrong this time? You know, your mother lies sometimes. She kept the fact that you and James were kissing from me."
"Also kept a secret relationship from you," she turns back to the breakfast she's making for her, Ransom and Posie. Giving herself something extra to do and to look at.
"That's the second time you've brought your sister up. You sure you don't want to talk about her?" he sees her body language change. "We don't have to, but I'll listen if you want to."
"You promise to just listen?" her eyes peek back him, and he gives her a nod. "I want things to go back. I just can't right now. She hurt you, mom, Beau, Aster, Carter, me, and everyone is seeming to forget what she did," Ransom wants to add something. His body is itching to add something, but he promised. "I know she hurt herself the most. I get that. But she hurt you, her dad. And she hurt mom."
"Stop," he stands up and walks over to Iris. "You worded that weird," when Iris doesn't turn to look at Ransom, he knows he's not crazy. "Do you not think I'm your dad."
"You're not. Frank is."
"Biologically yes. Iris, I can't stress to you enough that when your mom mentioned adoption to me, I didn't hesitate. You scared me at first. But it was because I was afraid to get too close to you. She and Andy could have taken you away from me, and I had no rights. When I saw your mom pregnant, I wanted you and Aster. When I saw you in that hospital nursery, I wanted you and Aster. When I met you, I wanted the both of you. So when she asked me that, my answer was always yes. It will always be yes. I don't regret one minute of that decision. You have and are always mine. My angel. I loved telling people that the Drysdale twins were mine. Because you are. You are mine."
Iris turns to her dad, pushing her forehead against his chest, "My family that me and your mom created, and you kids will continue to create is the best part of my life. You might not share any of my genes but you are without a doubt mine. That weird little thing you do with your nose when your disgusted, I make that face. All that stubbornness, that you try to hide, but it's there. I'm sorry about that. That noise you make when you get something wrong, another trait from me. Angel look at me," her eyes that are identical to Frank's look up at Ransom full of tears.
"I don't care how long it takes for you and Story to talk again. I know it will happen. I don't care that you are mad at her. What I care about is you're hiding all that you're going through. You don't have to carry the world on your shoulders. Iris you're a good mama, a pretty good dog mom too. You're an amazing wife. The best lawyer I know, but baby my favorite thing has always been that you are my daughter. You'll figure it out. But quit being so hard on yourself. Quit avoiding your childhood home."
"She's just getting everything she wanted. Prince Charming, a baby..."
"Story is good at hiding things too, Icy. I love you, and we can stop talking about this okay?"
"Thank you daddy."

Icy making sure dada is still in the bathroom!!
- floof
🥺 She's even got floral on, and whispers dada! And you know Ransom is making heart eyes, awing, and only slightly annoyed that he can't use the facilities in peace. But hearing that baby just want to be near him 🥺
Poor Kitten didn't stand a chance with the girls. Iris always did have this soft spot for Ran. So when Blade only wanted to be with hims mama...she was in HEAVEN. And then had two more daddy's girls.

While we know Ran is a hornball and Kitten is one damn patient woman, is it okay to request a drabble of them just being a ball full of fluff? Like couple fluff, with or without children 😂 just the rare sightings of our og babies not jumping on the bed 😳
Oh this sweet couple. I mean, Ran is almost always horny when it comes to his Kitten. He just wants to make it purr. But he also has some of the sweetest moments with her, and they love and adore their family and life.

There isn’t too much you have to complain about your life. Especially once everyone is settled in bed. Ransom only barely returning after doing his final rounds to make sure everyone was snug and sleeping. Watching you brush your teeth to get ready for bed.
His large frame stands behind you, with just the most gentle of touches to your hips, and even more tender kisses on your exposed skin. There’s nothing sexual about this moment, it’s pure love and respect to you.
He knows that you had struggled a bit after Story, but three years later, and he saw the woman he was madly in love with completely back. Present in every aspect of your lives, and he usually wasn’t too far behind, just admiring every little thing you did.
Ransom had been strong and patient. Had been your rock and stepped up immensely. In some cases, became both the mother and the father, when you struggled to check back in. But you made it. Made it by yourself, but most importantly, as a couple.
Turning on some soft music, he turns you around just so he could dance with you. While his hands hold you with the softest touch, he has you pressed tightly against his body. Swaying the both of your bodies to the music, and his typical sinful mouth peppers delicate open mouth kisses on your skin.
“I never tell you enough, but I’m so thankful for you. So in love with you. Seven years isn’t enough,” you tilt your head to the side giving him better access, giggling a bit when his beard tickles your skin. “I’m serious, Kitten. I couldn’t do this without you.”
“And I couldn’t have done this without you,” Ransom finally leans back to peer down at you. Your eyes shining brightly up at him. “You’ve been my rock. The thing I never knew I wanted.”
“The thing, really?”
“You know what I mean. I couldn’t have asked for a better husband.”
“Yeah, you could. You deserve more than I can give you.”
“Lies,” you speak loudly, giving him your own soft kiss to his pouty face. “We’ve had our ups and downs from the beginning. But I love our journey to here. We’re both so thankful for each other, but also for this life we’re building. I wouldn’t change a thing, if I couldn’t have this life I have right now, Ran. You were worth all the tears, all the fighting, and growing. You were worth it all. And I know we love each other, because we fought to be here.”
The two of you have a moment of gazing into each other’s eyes. Memories of your life leading up to this moment flashing in your brain. There had been a lot of heartache, but more love, fun, laughter, love, and life. And he was worth every bit of it.
“You are my reason,” you wipe a stray tear off his cheek. Standing on your tippy toes to get give him a kiss on his damp skin. “Oh, baby, I didn’t want you to cry.”
“Yes, you did. You have your ways to make me feel whatever you want me to,” you lean forward, resting your head on his chest, “It only beats for you.”
“Don’t be cheesy, Ran.”
“Daddy.”
His hand drops off your hip, to rustle Story’s hair a bit. Pulling her closer to him, but she’s only worried about wrapping her hand around his ring finger. “Daddy, my bed is cold.”
“You can sleep with me and mama, Princess,” his hand coasts down your skin slowly, before bending over to pick up Story throwing her in the air with a melodic round of giggles. “I was about ready to tuck mama into bed anyways.”
Story lays in between the two of you, before crawling on Ransom’s belly. Pulling at the arm furthest from you, “Daddy, hold me,” her little head snuggling in tight to him, and you can’t help but beam at the sweet little interaction.
“Mama, I had…had, had a bad dream,” your baby boy walks clumsily into the bedroom. Crawling onto you, sniffling.
“Bladey, you’re okay. Mama is right here.”
“Kitten, we’ve got the world’s biggest daddy’s girl and mama’s boy.”
“Shh, they don’t stay this little forever look at Aster and Iris,” hearing that door creak open one more time, you see your oldest babies peaking their head through the door. “Is everything okay?”
“The pipes are making that creepy sound again, and I can’t sleep.”
“It’s hot upstairs,” Aster adds in. Jutting out their lower lips before you pat on the space in between you and Ransom. They don’t sleep in here too often, so when they do, it’s a big event.
“Madam,” Story clears her throat, twisting her head to look at you, “We all here. Can we watch a mobie?”
“I wanna watch a…a, a movie,” Blade agrees, his sweet self looking up at you, “It’ll help me for…forget, forget the nightmares.”
“Kitten,” Ransom smiles over at you, “They’re only this little once. I could do with a bedtime movie night with my reasons.”
Nodding your head, the two of you lean towards the other, just a quick kiss, while your oldest three gag a bit, Story smiles up at you, “I’ll have my own prince one day.”
“Let’s hope that day never comes.”
“Daddy! The Princess of Boston has to have a Prince.”
“I’m marrying mama.”
“Iris is marrying James.”
“Aster is never getting married.”
Ransom has to shake his head, still trying to be positive, but sighs, “I don’t like this.”
“Oh, don’t be ridiculous. They’re all babies.”

I always have this What If in my head.. what if during that time when Ran and Kitten were still only co-parenting Ran find some woman, like i dont know he would took girls out to buy coffee and some lady would praise Icy&Azzie and maybe he would come back couple of times to that coffee shop and actually start to date her?? I know Ran and Kitten will always find their ways to be with each other, but maybe Kitten after seeing that the love of her life being with someone thats not her would trigger something in her and she will tell him sooner?
Oh my goodness! I love this, it's mean, but I do really love this. A bit of a slow torture. Yes, Kitten and Ransom will always end up together, but sometimes it's the journey that makes them turn out the way that they are now. So let's dive into this! Because it's only fair that if Kitten is dating someone, Curtis, that Ransom could be dating someone as well.

“Nope, you come here,” Ransom grabs hold of Aster finishing getting her ready for gymnastics, while Iris sits calmly smiling at him. “You like tumbling, Az, you just got to stay still, so I can get you dressed.”
“More fun,” she giggles. As soon as Ransom’s hands are off of her, she does a quick somersault, while he works on getting Iris dressed.
“Dada sad?” Iris asks holding his face in both her hands. “Dada hurt?”
“No, Icy. Dada is tired.”
“No seep?”
“Nope. Dada hasn’t slept well since you were born,” she chokes out a laugh, while he slips on her shoes. Gathering their gym bag, he holds out a hand for both of them, “Alright, let’s see what Miss Hope is gonna teach you guys today.”
Ransom has a love hate relationship with gymnastics. He loves when you come and sit with him. Doing a quick exchange, before he comes to your apartment for dinner anyways. But some days it’s just him, the girls, the teacher, too many rowdy kids, and meddling mothers.
He can tell they talk about him a lot, because they’re always whispering and giggling when he’s here without you. He watches a bit longer as Hope warms the kids up, and an older mother slides in beside him.
“So what’s your story? You’re sometimes here with a,” her eyes drift to his fingers before back at his face, but he still stares at his daughter. “So she’s not the wife, and she doesn’t have a ring.”
“Is this going somewhere, ma’am?”
“Just trying to figure out the parent situations here. I’m like the president of the mothers. You and your…?” Ransom refuses to answer, because he doesn’t have the appropriate label. “Okay, the mother of the twins and you have not signed up for snacks.”
Finally he turns to look and her, and she’s nearly taken aback at his intense stare. His dark blue eyes beyond over this conversation. “Tell us when and what to bring.”
“So you’re dating? It’s just most of us,” she holds up her finger showing a wedding band, and Ransom loses all interest again. “Well, it sets a good example for the kids.”
“My daughters are loved and cared for by both me and their mother. That’s a great example.”
“She’s brought another man in here.”
“That would be her boyfriend.”
“So you are single?” as soon as Hope dismisses the girls, Ransom bolts to get them. Sliding their coats on, and thankful that he’s finished with that.
“Mr. Drysdale?” Hope asks before he can sneak out. “I saw Mrs. Perry talking to you. You don’t owe anyone an explanation on anything,” she smiles while the girls run to the floor, practicing more somersaults and splits.
“You’re doing a good job. None of the other fathers come here.”
“None of them went through what I did to get my daughters,” he grumbles, quickly looking away from her. “I mean, the girls, Aster and Iris really seem to like you, get along great.”
“Yeah, I’ll go to the park with you.”
Ransom’s mouth turns into a small O as he looks at the tiny gymnastics coach. Unsure of how or why the conversation veered in this direction. “Extra practice and everything.”
“What just happened?”
“I’m free this Saturday. And we can either meet there or you can pick me up. Let’s say around noon? And then after they play around we can take them to a movie or dinner, okay? Sounds great. I’ll see you Saturday,” she turns quickly walking into her office, while Ransom still stands there in shock.
“Dada! Go to mama’s now!” Aster shouts, finally pulling Ransom out of his thoughts. He nods his head, calling both girls over to head to your place for supper.
Still almost distracted by what Hope had told him when he walks in, and feeling a ping of jealousy when both girls run to Curtis with both arms wide. But more so when he scoops both of Aster and Iris up, and blowing raspberry tickles on their necks. “Your mom made pizza!”
“Yay!”
“Dada stay?” Iris asks peaking behind her to see Ransom, “Pitza nummy.”
Ransom looks over at you, and giggle reaching to get a plate. Like always Jake and Steve join, and you have your odd made up family until Ransom clears his throat.
“Do you mind if I have the girls this weekend? I mean, if you don’t have anything planned with them?”
“We were going to take them to the pumpkin patch,” you remind him. You notice how he tries not to roll his eyes. We, as in you, him, Curtis, Jake, Aster, and Iris.
“Can we do that Sunday? I have something Saturday. I have a thing.”
“Oh, you have a date?” you playfully ask.
“I think so.”
“Oh,” you respond quickly, and all eyes turn towards you waiting on a response. “Um, well…” thankfully the girls had retired to their bedroom for a bit of playtime before baths. Curtis lays a hand on your thigh and gives a little squeeze, “I don’t want you to introduce the girls to an I think so date.”
Ransom let’s out a chuckle at your uncomfortableness. More sure of himself with his next words, “They’re not being introduced. It’s their gymnastics teacher.”
“Hope?” your voice goes up an octave, and you just stare at him. “You asked Hope out on a date? Why?”
“Hope asked me on a date. No, she told me I was going on a date with her. I think it’s a date.”
“Fine,” you answer standing up, you gather the plates, nearly ignoring Ransom for the rest of the evening. You don’t miss Jake and Steve continuing to look at you, but it’s Curtis’ face that hurts.
“I need a shower,” you answer before you can even comprehend anything at the moment.
“That came from nowhere,” Jake answers, his eyes set on Ransom. “You just…have a date and you’re taking your kids.”
“Is it a date then?” Steve asks. “And she told you? She’s a very…matter of fact woman.”
“I think it’s a great idea,” everyone turns to look at Curtis, nearly gawking. “You should get out there and meet new people. Sometimes it’s just time to…move on.”
“Wait a minute,” Ransom grumbles at him. “Is there something you would like to tell the class? You’re falling aren’t you?”
“I just think, you’re standing still won’t make your move, but you’ll agree to someone asking you. It’s good. I approve. I like Hope. The girls love Hope, plus, I did have a surprise for her this weekend, and seeing how you’re going to have the kids, I can spring it on her. You’ll have fun.”
“What’s going on?” Jake asks looking between Ransom and Curtis. “It’s like I feel the testosterone radiating off of both of them. So much masculinity. Now Ransom, you and your cable knit, counter that.”
“I think you’re moving too fast. She’s not ready for something serious. You’re not serious.”
“People change. Especially when they’re in a healthy relationship.”
“And some people have children together, and they’re always in a relationship.”
“That was terrible,” Jake whispers to Steve. “That didn’t make any damn sense. Ransom is losing this. You just watch.”
“Aster, Iris, come tell your daddy goodbye,”
Ransom never turns his eyes away from Curtis, just gives him a long glare. Only looking away when both girls crash into him.
“No! Dada stay wit me. Hold you,” Iris makes grabby hands at Ransom and he picks both up.
“Mama got a big bed,” Aster adds in. Ransom looks over at Curtis with the biggest smile. “Seep wif mama tonight.”
“CC can scoot over.”
“This just got weird,” Jake adds his snippy commentary. Glancing over at Curtis who never flinches. “I’m about to sit in the shower with her.”
“Shut up,” Steve grouses.
“Dada stay, peas?”
“No, but I’ll see you tomorrow when mama brings you to the estate,” he gives them both kisses and hands them to Jake and Curtis respectively when him and Steve leave.
————————————
Curtis crawls in the bed behind you, and immediately starts to softly kiss your shoulder. “Ten should do it tonight,” you turn to the side to look at him and he smirks.
“We gonna talk about it, or you going to hide in orgasms.”
“Talk about what?” you ask him, and he gives your shoulder a small nibble. “Curtis, what?”
“Fine, Little one what do you want?”
“To not think,” you answer very quickly.
“Now what do you need?”
This takes longer. You sit and think, knowing exactly what to say, but not wanting to admit it. “I need to talk.”
“What is the most important right now?” Turning around to look at him, you crawl into his lap, laying your head on his shoulders, and his hands move up and down your back. “I am okay with whatever you need or want. I am here for you.”
“I don’t like it.”
“What?”
“That,” you respond with a growl. “Ransom and Hope, and bringing my daughters on their date.”
“They go on dates with us.”
“That’s different. They knew you,” Curtis lets out a shot of air, and you realize how ridiculous you sound. “But that’s their coach. And…”
“What do you want from Ransom?” you give him a shrug, because it is definitely not something that’s fair to talk about with Curtis. “What do you need from Ransom?”
“Just him. And I’m sitting in your lap, and it’s not fair.”
He pushes you back to look into your eyes, “You do understand, I am fully aware that you are stubbornly in love with Ransom. I say stubbornly because you’re fucking around with me, literally. Letting that man get asked on dates, that he doesn’t want to go anymore than you want him too. You will not hurt my feelings when you decide you’re tired of me fucking you dumb.”
He gets a tiny giggle from you, but you still cling to his thick frame, “The only one that can stop him from dating, is you. But if you don’t want to try it out, then you need to let him go.”
————————————
Ransom awkwardly walks beside Hope when the girls run off playing with Axel. Since the twins are no longer with them, so there’s no buffer. No conversation, and he can’t very well do what he did with you when the two of you first got involved. This is their gymnastics coach.
Thankfully for him, he doesn’t see you walking in the park. Curtis was right, and you had let the whole week pass, while you stewed bitterly at the fact that Ransom was on a date. On a date that Hope asked him on.
Walking past everyone until you get right on him, spinning him around, to pull Ransom down to your lips. At first he just stands there, but then, his hands pull you closer, before lifting you up to him.
Returning the kiss, and never wanting to let you go. Not even when both girls giggle at you. Iris even having a few tears in her eyes. Pulling back when Aster gives his leg a smack. “What was that for?”
“The only person I want you going on dates with is me. I don’t want to date anyone but you. I don’t want to play these stupid games. I know what you said, but I’m not waiting on you to make a move. I’m telling you that you’re who I want to be with. I want to live together with our girls, and I want to give you more babies. Enjoy every second of this life with you. And I know we got work to do, but you’re worth it. We’re worth it. Ransom, just…” not able to finish your sentence or train of thought, due to the fact that Ransom slots his lips against yours.
“Told you Tucker!” Hope screams. “Where’s my fifty bucks? Stupid idiots in love. By the way, I’m going to leave, so make sure you’re watching your kids.”

Harlan passing away so peacefully has me in all the feels 😢 do my eyes deceive me or is there another little one - Lucy Drysdale?? 👀
Harlan deserved a quiet and peaceful passing. Around the people he loved the most too! It's also why Story took it so hard. Out of ALL of the grandchildren, she was closest to Harlan. Harlan fed her imagination. You found an Easter egg. Listen that was going to go up for December 5th for the 12 Days of Christmas....but I like leaving little hints now and then. Do you realize how hard it is to include a child that hasn't even been introduced yet?  I did have some other clues that there was a fifth.  At the Christmas party when Story got the necklace from Carter, Ransom’s hand was resting on Kitten’s belly.  Every time Kitten was going to the school she was taking Lucy.  There are a few others...but I’ll let you see if you can spot them.

Taking a deep breath you hand the little box to your husband.  He gives you an odd look before pushing it back into your hands.  “It’s not Christmas yet.”
“Just open it.  I promise you’ll love it,” you beam up at him.  He stands there just holding the box before he starts unwrapping the paper.  His eyes stay only on you, narrowing his vision as he tries to decipher what it is that you got him.  Finishing pulling off the paper he continues to watch you, unsure of what gift you could have given him.  “Look at it when you open it, baby.”
Ransom slowly pulls the lid off, still not turning his eyes away from you, and you can’t help but laugh and shake your head.  Once it’s open he looks down to see the positive pregnancy test.  Smiling through his tears he looks back up at you, “This better be yours and not our daughters.”
“Ransom Drysdale they’re thirteen!”
He bites his lip, and let’s those tears finally fall down, “It’s yours?” you nod yes with the biggest smile.  “We’re having our fifth?”
“We’re having our fifth, baby,” he picks you up, and starts bouncing with you in his arms.  Stopping as soon as he starts, to press a hand against your belly.
“I’m sorry my little nugget,” his dark blue eyes just wander around your face, “How long?”
“Well, I wasn’t sure.  Not that we’ve been careful.  I went to the doctor,” his face falls as he glares at you.  You knew he’d be pissed, but you wanted to make sure you were pregnant so he wouldn’t get upset.  “Twelve weeks.”
“I knew you were looking different.  These pretty tits of yours were looking real full.”
“Shut up.”
“We’re having a baby,” you nod your head, bringing his mouth closer to yours, before giving him the sweetest kiss.  “We’re having a baby!”
“Shh...we gotta tell the kids.”
“Tonight, I don’t wanna wait.”
________________________________________________________________
Ransom almost cannot contain his excitement.  His body bubbles over with excitement while all of your babies sit on the couch in front of you.  Story’s hand holds onto Blade’s and she leans over on him, and your little man gives a hard blink behind his glasses before pushing them up his nose.  “I’m nervous.”
“Bladey, there’s nothing wrong,” you say soothingly.  Your hand resting on Ransom’s lap, but your sweet baby isn’t convinced.
“Then tell us.  Dad, why are you so...happy?” Ransom tries to turn his face down as he looks at his mini me.  “Go on.”
“Your mom and I have some very important news, well happy news.  The best news.”
“We’re buying a real castle?” Story asks piping up from Blade’s shoulder, but it goes back down when Ransom shakes his head no.
“We’re going to Hawaii for vacation?” Aster asks, again more shakes of no.
“I get to go to the NASA Space Camp this summer?  Well, that would just be for me,” your only boy is so cute when he talks about NASA, he’ll get to go, and you as a family will be staying close by while he’s there.
Iris softly smiles when she notices where her dad’s hand is resting.  Her eyes glimmer with the tears.  You give her a nod, and she stands up to hug you.  “I don’t...don’t, don’t get it,” hearing the nervous stuttering in your son’s voice makes you want to shout what the news is.
“You’re getting your fifth,” Iris cries, wrapping her arms around her dad.
Aster’s head slings back on the couch, Blade gives you a big smile, but Story pouts, “I won’t be the baby anymore?  This is horse shit.”
“Story Rose Drysdale!” you try not to laugh, letting her know that, that kind of talk is not prohibited.
“Story book, you’re always going to be my itty bitty baby, okay?” Ransom’s hand reaches out to Story who skips to her dad’s lap.  You can see the wheels turning in Aster’s head, and you’re almost concerned with what she’s going to say.
“This happened when you went on that weekend getaway!” she shouts her eyes squinting at you.  “I told you two to practice safe sex.  You lied.”
“Angel, you know I’ve been begging for my fifth for awhile.”
“I just don’t know what to do with you two.  Jumping on the bed with every chance you get.  Are you happy?” turning to look at your husband, you bring his face to look at you.  The pure joy in his eyes lets you know that without a doubt you made the right choice.  Still looking at one another you both nod.  “Well, okay.  This is the last one right?”
“Maybe.”
“Ransom Drysdale!  You’re getting fixed, this is it, baby.”
“But...”
“NO!” you all shout at him.
“Fine, fine.  I’m settling at five,” he gives you another kiss, while Story plays with his wedding ring.  “I love you Kitten.”

Have you ever written about Story seeing Posie for the first time in a while since Story was held captive? I love them🥺🥺
I have not...this is going to have some bittersweet moments, and I'm also going to include some moments with Story and Posie after Dayton's passing. That little girl was so happy that Story was having a baby, and she really didn't spend a ton of time with her in the early pregnancy.

“Ris,” James follows his wife out of the bedroom and down the hallway. Using his longer legs to gain on her quickly. Gently reaching out for her arm, but she flinches away. “Iris, please.”
“You called me Iris,” her voice angry, but more hurt than anything. “Not Iris Jade. But Iris.”
“Because, you won’t stop and listen.”
“Why is it everything that she wants, she gets? Posie is my daughter. I say who she can and cannot see,” James’ never turns his face up in anger. It only softens. “Why? Tell me why she gets this?”
“Ris, Baby Doll, I know you’re angry,” she scoffs, but moves closer to his arms. “I was there. I know what happened.”
“And as my husband you should know why I don’t want her to see Posie yet. Everyone expects me to forgive so quickly. And I just can’t right now. The things she said about my mom. My dad. Her biological father. And she had no idea.”
“You’re right. She didn’t. She knew what that stupid little bitch was saying at school. Everyone wanted to keep that life away from Story and Blade, so she got an account from a girl who’s mother was in love with Andy.”
“Don’t say his name.”
James tilts his head to the side and kisses on Iris gently. “Story didn’t know how bad it was. Story was hurt and angry. Did you hear how her and Carter broke up? Iris I have never seen someone love the way they did. Besides us. I saw them. I heard Carter talk about Story and how he wanted to marry her. And when they broke up, she spiraled. She had this unresolved depression from me, from Harlan, from you, and Posie. She took care of Posie because she hurt so much for you. She would do it over and over again. But she bonded with our daughter. That baby became more than her niece and you know she did. So to keep Posie away from Story is unfair to both of them. Baby Doll, I know you’ll forgive Story in time. I have no doubt about that. I know that you need your time to get over everything that happened. But can you not admit that your sister spent nearly a year in rehab away from her family, when even Joshua, Bucky, and Dr. Banner said she craves touch. She was alone. She’s still alone and trying to navigate a sober life with Carter still refusing to talk to her. She misses you and Posie.”
“Jamey,” Iris sighs. Pressing her face firmly on his chest. “I’m just not ready.”
“I know. And I understand. And we will get through this, and the miscarriages, and the negative tests together. You and me. It’s always been you and me and it always will be. I’m not going anywhere. But our daughter misses her aunt. What are you scared of?”
“That she’ll love Story more than me,” James pushes Iris off of him, his hazel eyes moving all across her face and he leans forward to give her a kiss. “Story is the fun one. She doesn’t have the job I have so she can spend hours playing with Posie, and telling her those stories, and I’m just an anxious ball.”
“She’s the aunt. Of course she’s more fun. But you’re her mother. You. You were the woman who birthed her, and will love her no matter what she does. Posie will never love Story, the way she loves you. It’s not possible.”
Dodger comes around Iris, and starts pacing around. Licking at her hand. Sitting down, only to anxiously walk around her, before he gives her a demanding bark. “Will you stay with me?”
“I’m not going anywhere. We can have a day. Me and you,” Dodger barks loudly again, and James looks down at the good boy. “Dodger, too.”
“Fine. This isn’t a regular thing. And this doesn’t mean that I…”
“I know. You’re doing good Iris Jade Rogers.”

Posie sits on her Papa’s lap, just holding onto Ransom. Her little fingers playing with the back of his hair, just like her mama did when she was little. You and Story walks through the room, and you can already feel the happiness radiating off of Story.
“Hey, Princess Posie,” she says softly. Posie gets one look at who’s talking, and her face lights up immediately. Looking back at Ransom quickly, when Story squats down and holds her arms wide for her.
“Is it really you, Ree?” Story nods her head, and Posie rushes over to her. Knocking her backwards and she clings to her. With one sniffle from the little girl, Story knows she missed her as much as she missed Posie. “Don’t do that again. Don’t…I missed you so much.”
“I know baby. I know.”
She pulls back to look at Story, and the two of them wipe each other faces from the tears. “Can we have a tea party and you finish Lancelot and Guinevere’s story?”
Ransom and you go to move closer to them, making sure that name didn’t bother Story, but you’re little bitty baby just smiles, “Yes, we can finish it. Mimi has already set up a tea party in your room. Come on,” standing up, she holds out her hand to Posie who just clings to it. Holding her so tightly as to not lose her again.
___________________________________________
“Princess?” Carter hums as the two of them lay in bed. His hand holds tight to Story’s swollen belly, and he gives Otto’s temporary home a rub. “There’s a little girl that wants to see you today.”
“No she doesn’t.”
Carter gives a sigh to Story, and continues petting along her stomach. “There is nothing that she wants more than to see you right now. You’re about to give her a cousin, and she won’t be alone anymore. I know you want to spend some time with her before Otto is here. I think she’s a bit concerned that he’s going to replace her.”
“No, he can’t. Me and Posie will always have tea parties and stories. She was my first little princess.”
“She set up a tea party all by herself. To be fair, it is milk, Biscoffs, and Uncrustables. But she did it…”
“Did she?” Story sits up smiling through her tears at Carter. He gives her a nod in answer. “Why have I been avoiding my pretty girl for so long?”
“You needed this time to process everything.”
“What I need,” she stands up and walks to the closet. Rummaging through a few outfits before throwing something on. “Is to spend time with a little girl who has always brought me happiness.”
Dressed, Story walks to Posie’s room and sees her niece waiting patiently at her table. Her tiered tray filled with a few snacks, and like Carter said Biscoffs and Uncrustables. “Hey, Princess Posie.”
“Aunt Ree, you came! I told mama and daddy you would. I set up everything by myself. It’s not as pretty as when Mimi does it. But I did this. And…oh, your baby. Can I touch your belly?”
For the first time in weeks, Story fully smiles. Nodding her head, she lets Posie walk over. Her hands hold onto her bump, before kissing it, ending with her laying on it. “I can’t wait to meet you Otto. You and I have the best mommies.”

Blade kisses your belly over and over again, while Ransom just giggles at him, “Buddy,” he tries to pull him away, but Blade continues issuing his kisses, “Buddy, mommy’s got to go to the bathroom.”
“Baby,” he points at your belly, giving you his big snaggle tooth grin.
“Yes, I got a baby in there,” he gives you more and more kisses, and you laugh, just dragging him along with you, “Bladey, can mommy go pee,” with a final smooshy kiss on your belly he lets you free, and tries to continue the kisses when you come back out.  You pick him up and start pressing kisses all over him, his belly laughs reverberating through the townhouse.  “You can’t kiss there all the time, buddy.”
“My baby.”
“Yes, Bladey, they’ll be your baby.  You’re going to be the best big brother.  Come on, let’s get your sissies, we’re going to see your baby.”
___________________________________________________________________
“Every time I see you there’s more children,” Dr. Fisk tells you, while Ransom helps you up on the exam table.  His other arm holding on to your little man.  “So, what do you think we’re having.”
“Baby,” Blade answers proudly pointing at your belly.
Throwing her head back Aster groans, “Not another boy.”
“Blade is cute, Azzie.”
Dr. Fisk giggles moving around the wand, Blade gasps putting his hands over his mouth when he hears the heartbeat, “Right there’s the baby.  See their head,” you point, and Blade’s eyes only get bigger.  Iris steps closer to you, but your ever dramatic child Aster sits idly.
“Iris, what do you think you’re having?  Can you tell?” the doctor asks her, and she shakes her head no.  “You’re having another baby brother.”
“Baby,” Blade screeches, “Oh baby.”

“Kitten, what are you thinking for names?  I know you’ve been thinking,” Ransom’s lips kiss on your shoulders, his hands rubbing over the baby bump.
“Well, we have Steve and Harlan in one name.  I think it’s only fair...I want him named after Jake,” you spit out quickly and Ransom chuckles.  “What?”
“We’ll name him Jake Jensen Drysdale then,” you laugh.  “No, how were you thinking of naming him after Jake?”
“His middle name, Anders...but, you don’t think it’s too close,” you can’t look at him, you’re afraid he’ll hate the name.  Reminding him of Andy, and you couldn’t fathom Ransom not being able to say his son’s name.  “It means brave.”
“Kitten, it’s perfect,” he gives you another kiss.  “Do you remember?” you look at him confused.  “That night by the creek.  Using the cold water to create cold chills on your body.”
“Why are you even bringing that up?”
“I’d kiss up your cold skin, warming you with my lips, wanting you to feel every part of me.  Then I sunk into that tight cunt of yours...”
“Ransom, we’re naming our baby, and you're over here talking about sex beside a creek.”
“I’m getting to it, woman,” he covers your mouth with his hand, “I look up meanings to names, too.  I wanted something about a river, a creek, or brook, or something,” you swipe your tongue up his hand, “You’re disgusting.  I got better uses for that tongue,” leaning forward he gives you a filthy kiss, a kiss that’s too hot for the conversation at hand.  “Beckett.”
“Huh?” you awkwardly answer, still entranced by his mouth
“Beckett.  It means dweller by the brook,” you smile up at him sweetly.  “I watched my cum leak out of you that night.  Fingered it right back in you.”
“Such a sweet moment ruined by your horny ass.”
He deeply laughs, issuing a soft kiss to your lips, “Gotta keep you on your toes pretty girl.”
___________________________________________________________________
Your eyes flutter awake, you let out a pained breath rubbing along your stomach, “Ran,” you squeak out, only for him to groan a bit.  The moonlight giving just enough light for you to see the sticky blood soaking the bed, “Ransom!  No.  No, oh god, no.”
He jerks back, feeling the mess on himself, and one glance down at how soaked the two of you are, “Kitten,” your voice cries and screams at the same time, feeling a wave of unbearable pain rush over you.
“Your mom, she’s closest.  I gotta,” another scream, exits your throat, and Ransom dials his mom quickly.
“She’s...we need...can you watch the kids?” his eyes keep flicking between your face and the deep crimson spot on the bed, his own body covered in it.
“I’ll be right there,” Linda didn’t hesitate.  She heard the fear in his voice, the pain in your cries.  When she pulls up, Ransom is walking you out to the car, as fast as possible, barely telling her a thank you.  When she opens the door the bedroom, she slams her hand on her mouth.  Unable to breath or remove her eyes from the bed.
“Bebe?” Iris rubs her eyes, walking down the hall, and Linda closes your bedroom door quickly.  “Where’s mama and daddy?”
“They had to go to the doctor.  Let’s get you back in bed,” she reads the little girl that she struggled so much to accept as her own a story.  With each word, Iris will stare up at her, giving her a sweet smile, when Linda glances down.  For too long Linda tried to push the child away, but seeing her not even realizing the mess down the hall, Iris is so content, so loving, and she decides Iris is Ransom’s.  Her little head collapsing on Linda’s lap, and she brushes back her hair.  Picking up her phone she lands on Frank’s number, “Frank?”
“Linda it’s 3:00 in the damn morning.”
“Ransom...he, he...he took Y/N to the hospital,” her hand holds onto her mouth as she cries.
Frank sits up quickly, “What’s wrong?  Linda?  What’s wrong?”
“There's blood...everywhere.  I don’t think...he’s not...I gotta get them a new bed.  New carpet.  Frank, it’s everywhere.”
__________________________________________________________________
Dr. Fisk shakes his head no at you and Ransom, and you lose self-control.  Tears roll down your cheeks, you grip tightly to your bump.  Anders’ no longer moving, no heartbeat detected.  And Ransom holds you tightly, his own tears wetting your shoulder.  Of all the pain you had been through in your life, nothing prepared you for this pain.  Knowing when you woke up in the pool of scarlet that it wasn’t good.  And the only words that come out of your mouth is a repeated, “Nononononononono.”
__________________________________________________________________
Your voice hoarse from the tears you’ve cried, your feet drag through the door of the townhouse, Ransom’s hand firmly in yours as he guides you in.  You shake your head no at him, because although your tired, you can’t look, can’t see.  Knowing that it’ll look like a massacre, but when you open that door, and see that it’s pristine and clean, you collapse to your knees, “He’s gone.  Ransom our baby...he’s...” Ransom falls to the floor with you holding your body as tight to him as he can get it, while he rocks you back and forth.  The two of you in an odd time loop of being numb and feeling an aching pain.
Ransom gets enough strength to lift you up, carrying you to the bed, and the two of you exhausted from the lack of sleep, let your tears and whimpers lull you to sleep.  In your world of pained dreams, Linda brings the kids back, but seeing the two of you, gathers them back up to take somewhere else, but you heard it.  That sweet little whining, “Mama,” from your baby boy.  The boy that made it.  He had never been away from you, and his pitiful cries for you, make you yearn for nothing more than your babies.  Running out of the room, Linda has no words, but those babies cling to you.  Blade holding on so tightly no one could pull him away.
“Baby,” he tries to smile, and you cry again.  “No cry.”
“Your baby...” Turning you see Ransom emerge from the bedroom.  “He’s gone.”
“No!” Iris cries, and Aster, clings tighter to you.
“I’m sorry.  I’m so sorry.”
“It’s not your fault,” Ransom joins your family circle, his hands and body trying to touch every one of his babies and you.  “Thank you, mom.  I’ve got it from here.”
“I’m not leaving you guys.  I’ll cook.”

James takes a deep breath following the doctor back to see his daughter, but when he sees his beautiful baby girl, belly still swollen with Daisy, and hooked up on all the machines he struggles to stand.  Walking over to her bedside, his hand pets over her exposed arm.  If it wasn’t for the gash in her hairline, and dried blood she would look like she was sleeping.
“Sometimes they respond to their loved ones voice,” a nurse gently says, giving a pitiful look to the big man.
“I don’t know what to say.”
“Tell me about the day that she was born,” the nurse walks beside James and he runs his fingers over the delicate tattoo at the crook of her elbow.  “What does it mean?”
“It’s a date.  I didn’t meet her the day she was born.  I was...oversees.  Didn’t know about her.  I hated that her uncle gave her a permanent mark, and then I saw it.  I could tell it was a date, but I didn’t understand.  She just looked up at me and told me it was the day I came home to her and her mama,” James covers his face with his hand, unable to hold back anymore tears.
“Posie, I felt the day you were born.  Could feel this tug at my heart, and you gave me so much hope to come home.  You fight like hell, baby.  That hope will die with you, and I know your mom wouldn’t be able to deal with this.  I couldn’t either.  Your family needs you.  Your son needs you, and Jax needs you.  That baby inside...”
The most heartbreaking and obnoxious sounds of Posie flat lining blares in James’ head while he repeats over and over, “Nononono,” the nurse who was standing beside him pushing him out.  “Don’t take them from me please.  Take me.”
“Mr. Rogers, we gotta get the baby out.”
“Save her.  She holds us together.”
“We’re going to try as much as possible.  The baby will go straight to NICU.  I’m sorry.  I’ve got to go,” James pushes his back up against the wall.  The sickening sounds of nurses and doctor’s trying to bring Posie back, and get Daisy out.
Walking back slowly to the waiting room, James stops and drops to his knees, “Jamey!  Please, no.  Don’t,” with a look up into Iris’s eyes she sinks down with him.  Steve and Marta run to their son, and hold the two of them tight.  Wrapping them in a cocoon.  “No.  She’s okay.  You tell me,” James shakes his head.  “No.  Not...not our baby.”
The rest of the family cling to their spouses, looking around at each other too stunned to even say anything.  Too scared to move, or speak anything into existence.  Not even sure how long they are all in this position.  The only one whose eyesight changes directions, is Chris’.  He holds tight to Lucy who is rolled up in his lap, but his eyes are steady watching Story.
A doctor finally walks through the door, in what felt like a lifetime, “We’ve got the baby out.  She’s stable, and in NICU in an incubator.  She’ll have to have open heart surgery, and if she survives, she’ll have a long stay in NICU.”
“If?” Jax’s bloodshot eyes look at the doctor, and he refuses to believe.  “If?  You tell me, my daughter is going home with us.”
“A Dr. Knowles is here, along with a doctor that just arrived, per Dr. Beck’s urging.  They’re both hopeful, but would have more certainty if she was full term.  I’m not going to lie to you,” Story doubles over, and Carter holds onto her thinking that she’s in shock, but Chris still stands watching her.  His eyes looking down at his watch.
“When can he see her?” Carter asks the doctor.  “Jax.  When can he see his daughter.”
“The mother hasn’t signed off on anything.”
“Really?  That’s that baby’s dad.  When can he see her?”
“Carter,” Iris looks at him.  “Please, not right now.  How is Posie?” the doctor’s mouth twists at an awkward angle.  “No.  My daughter is alive.  I feel her.  How is she?”
“We revived her.  We’re still trying to stabilize her.  She has severe brain trauma.  When she was hit head on, her head was slung back, and propelled forward at a fast rate, because of that her brain hit the front of her skull.  Almost like shaken baby syndrome.  We haven’t even looked at brain waves, our main concern is stabilizing her.  Then we will look into her brain function, and if there is any.  I want to give you hope, but again I won’t lie.  This can range from mild to severe.  Her body was also under stress, and was shutting down.  We’re hoping now that the baby is out, that her body can now focus on herself.  Once stable, we’ll let you go back, Mrs. Rogers.”
“When can her boyfriend?” Jax looks up at Carter, and then back to the doctor.  “When can he see the mother of his child?”
“Next of kin only.”
“That’s a bunch of bull shit!  He should not only get to see his daughter, but the mother of his child.”
“Hospital policy.  I’ll be back to update you,” he spins and turns to walk back up the door, but Carter heads to the front desk.
“How much?” the nurse looks up at him confused.  “How much to buy the damn hospital, so I can create my own policies?” the nurse only stutters up at him.  “How much?”
“Uh, the uh, the next of kin can sign a waiver to have him...”
“Hand it to me.  I still wanna know the price.”
Chris walks over to Carter, looking back at Lucy who has her hand on Story’s stomach, looking at her sister calmly, but Story just shakes her head no.  “Carter, we got a problem.”
“You fucking think.  What is it now?”
“The stress is causing Story to go into labor,” Carter looks over at her, and starts to trot over there.  “They contractions are not consistent, and they’re not that close, but they’re elevating every time you get angry.  You know as well as I do, you can’t stop labor once it starts, but she’s thirty-eight weeks it was bound to happen.  Blade is also bringing Iclynn to nurse quickly, because she’s in some pain, and needs relief.  But I need you to calm down for her.  I understand you’re upset, we all are, but we can’t make things worse.”
Walking over to Story he leans down, and she shakes her head, still crying.  “No.  I’m staying here.”
“Illiana says you’re not.”
“I need to know when Posie is stable.  I need to know when she wakes up, and gets to see her baby.  Carter, I’m not leaving,” he just gives her the worst smile he can muster, “I don’t want to.”
“Illiana wants to share a birthday with her cousin Daisy.”
“No.  For every birth there’s a death,” she buries her face in his neck, “And we can’t deal with that.  We can’t lose her.  Carter, we can’t do this.  We do everything as a family, but we can’t do this.”
Jax buries his face deeper into Kitten, but she reaches out to hold tight to Iris’s hand.  Iris knows her mom is there, but also knows that Jax needs somebody.  “They’re going to be okay,” she coos into his ear, almost rocking him like a baby.  Ransom at Jax’s back holds onto the both of them.  His dark blue eyes going between his wife and his daughter.
The Rogers, and Aster pile around James and Iris, keeping them warm, and spreeding there love, but Beck stays on the phone.  Contacting as many people, and doctors as he can.  Calling in favors, and making promises to them.
“Mr. Teller?” Beck jumps up to shake his friend's hand.  “Hey, I’m Dr. Samuel Bennett.  Dr. Knowles and I are going to be working on your daughter.  She is completely fine currently, but will definitely need to have open heart surgery.”
“C-c-can we wait?” the doctor gives him an odd look.  “Her mom hasn’t got to see her.”
“She’ll be able to live a normal life.  This isn’t a set back for her.  However, she may need minor medication, and the rare treatment.  But that’s a strong little girl.  Would you like to meet your daughter, Mr. Teller?” with a nod Jax follows the doctor.  “I’m sorry about all this.  I shouldn’t give you false hope, but both Dr. Knowles and I are very optimistic of her being just fine.  She’s ten weeks early, and with a weak heart, but I’ve seen worse.  How are you feeling?”
“Numb.”
Dr. Bennett stops to look at Jax, “I don’t want you to be alarmed.  She’s hooked up to a lot of machines.  And we’ll need to act fast.  She doesn’t have her mom’s body to protect her, and give her what she needs.  I know you want to wait, but her mother wouldn’t be very happy with you if you chose to postpone her surgery even though my medical advice is to not.”
With a nod of his head he follows the doctor, and looks through the window at his tiny baby in the incubator.  “She looks like Posie’s baby pictures,” Jax can hardly blink, hardly move, just wants to look at the second most beautiful thing he’s ever seen.  “I can’t do this alone.”
“Your good ole buddy Beck, is calling the best in the country.  No expense is going to be spared in keeping both them alive.  I have seen a severe TBI make a quick and full recovery.  If you can get back there to her, do it.  It won’t be easy, but she’ll wanna hear your voice, and you tell her about your daughter.”
“Can I touch her?” Dr. Bennett shakes his head no.
“You have to stay on this side of the glass.  You landed in a good family.  Protect them, and they’ll protect you.  Now, I’ve got a surgery to perform on a little flower.  I’ll report back to you when we’re finished.”
________________________________________________________________
“He’s gotta go back, Ris,” James looks at his wife, with no emotion.  His joy completely sucked out of him.  “I know you want to see her.  But if that were me and you, what would give us hope?”
“You give me hope.”
“And you give me hope.  I’ve went through so many scenarios, Baby Doll, I’m not ready for you to see her like that.  I don’t want you to have to go through the trauma of hearing your daughter flatline.  She needs hope, and so does he.  Carter, hand me that waiver,” instead of Carter it’s Lucy that walks over there.  She goes back beside Story and Carter.  Story leans over on her husband while their daughter nurses, a steady flow of tears drifting down her face.
“When he comes back, as soon as someone can go to her, it’s gotta be Jax.”
“I know, Sarge.  I can’t lose our baby.”
“We’re not going to.  I refuse.  She’s got Rogers blood, mixed in with some Adler and Drysdale.  She’s a fighter, and born to be a mom.  She won’t leave our Daisy without her mother.”
Blade leans over his baby sister, giving her a kiss to her cheek, “I need to take your princess back.  She can’t stay here, and there’s a lot of kids that need me.”
“We need you, Bladey.”
“Don’t do this, Ree.”
“We do.  Posie needs you.  I know, you’re struggling with this.  You get our ice princess back to the estate, and come back because we need you here.  There’s enough adults there that can deal with all of them.  Tell all our babies, we’ll be home, and we love them, and they have a new cousin.  Where’s Abel?”
________________________________________________________________
You brush the bright blonde hairs out of Abel’s face.  Holding tightly to your husband’s hand, while your kids try and keep themselves busy.  You were told that you could bring everyone to the estate, but with as many people as there were, and Abel being overwhelmed with the five kids that were here, you and Owin opted to stay home.
He never wanted you to let him go.  Randomly asking you about his Posie mama, and then just calling her mama.  Asking about his baby sister, and what information that Mrs. Drysdale had told Owin, the both of you decided to just say you didn’t know.
Owin while optimistic, knew the risks and probabilities of brain injuries.  You found him pacing around on the floor, to going to sit beside you, wrapping both large arms around you.  “She’ll be okay, buddy.  Mama, is going to be okay, just like sissy.”
________________________________________________________________
“Jax, we signed a waiver, that’s going to let you go back to Posie.  It’s time.  She needs you.  Make sure my baby is okay.  Tell her about Daisy and how she’s in surgery.  Beck is bringing in the top neurologist in the country just for her.  But she needs your voice.  Go,” Iris’s lip trembles when James finishes.  His arms, picking her up, so she can wrap her legs around him.  Finding his strength finally.
A calm soothing feeling rushes through his body.  And he holds on tightly to his wife as Jax follows as a nurse.  Himself completely drained.  “Oh, god,” he breaths out when he sees Posie.
“Breathe,” the nurse encourages as Jax walks up to her.
“Where’s her ring?” with a smile, the nurse walks over to a table, and hands the ring to Jax.  “She can’t wear it?”
“She can now.”
Jax gets down on his knee, and slides the ring on her left finger, “Squeakers, I told you this was a promise ring.  We promised to spend our life together, so you’re not leaving me yet.  But now, this ring is an engagement ring.  I will marry you.  You will wake up.  You will love on our babies, and you will give us more babies.  Daisy is so strong.  She’s so beautiful, just like her mother.  You’d be proud of her.  Her surgeons said she’s going to live a normal life even with,” Jax looks over at the nurse, and then down to Posie’s hand that’s in his.  “She moved.”
“Keep talking.  I’m going to page a doctor to hook her up to an EEG.”
“Squeakers, you’re so brave.  Our son is okay.  He doesn’t want to leave your cousin’s Bit.  She was the first one to him, and...” he smiles when her finger moves again.  “I think he’s found his first crush,” Jax looks at the machines that Posie is hooked up to.  “What does all this mean?”
“She’s got more activity,” her eyes look over the machine, as they light up with activity.  “Keep talking.”
“Squeakers, you know that Arleigh planted daisies on that patch of land?  She sent me a picture, and they’re blooming, darling.  Our home is going to be beautiful.  Close to the farm, so you get to lay with Clover and Sage, but we’re going to have a...what’s a herding dog?”
The nurse looks at him oddly, “Uh, Australian Shepherd,” turning to see the doctor, who looks at her machines in shock.
“We’re gonna have an Austrailian Shepherd, we gotta have help to keep up with all our babies.  The kids are gonna have a porcupine, but I secretly think it’s you that wants it.  Your dad, me, Beau, and Ari we’re gonna build us this big house.  Not as big as the ones on the compound, but big enough to fit our...she moved again.”
“Son, whatever is you’re doing, keep doing it.”
“She gets off on me talking about our future,” the doctor starts hooking up the probes to her head when a surge of energy is shown on her machines.  Jax lets out the first laugh since hearing about the wreck.  “It’s true Squeakers.  You love when I talk about our future.  You’re going to be the best mama, Posie.  You already are.  Holy shit.”
The doctor stands beside Jax watching the EEG machine go crazy with activity.  “You’re in there darling.  Rest, and when you get well, I’ll marry you as soon as you wake.”
“Nurse, the neurologist just arrived.  He needs to get in here, now.  Son, find one of the ten thousand of those people out there to get certified, and I’ll allow the two of you to get married,” even the doctor smiles when more brain waves are visible.  “Keep talking.”
“Oh, and Illiana is trying to steal Daisy’s spotlight.  Story and Carter had to go to labor and delivery.  They’re sharing a birthday.  You wouldn’t believe the amount of people that are here.  Squeakers, Papa called me son earlier.  I get sprinkles and a son.  I think it’s official.  I never told you this, but your dad apologized for being an ass to me.  Thatta girl.  You fight this so I can call you, my wife.  I’ll even wear sweaters at Christmas.”
Jax looks up at the doctor laughing.  “I don’t do cable knit.  Her family, obsessed.  Her Mimi sleeps in it.  She wants me to wear it.  I’ll even wear the navy one.  And one day, when Daisy can walk, we’re gonna have us a real wedding.  You in hopefully not a big poufy gown, but I can see you with this sexy tight dress, your dad walking you down the aisle.  Our babies before you.  Hell, if Daisy can’t walk, we’ll let someone pull her in a wagon.  Her a crown of daisies in her hair.  Can we do it in our daisy field.”
“What’s he doing?” the neurologist asks looking at all of Posie’s readings.  “She’s still in a coma?”
“She’s hearing everything.”
“Posie Teller has a nice ring to it.  And I can’t wait to see your mom and dad’s face when we tell them Daisy’s middle name.  Squeakers, I’m waiting on you.  What’s that mean?” he points over a machine that’s going off the charts.
“Her blood pressure is rising.”
“Squeakers, you’re getting too excited.  I know you’re sensitive but you can’t do this here.”
“Holy shit,” the doctor responds.  “Oh, your daughter is out of surgery and stable.  She did great.”
“Did you hear that Pose, our baby she’s out of surgery and stable.  When can I...” he looks at Posie, then at the doctor, before the floor.  “I want to see her, but I don’t to leave Posie,” her blood pressure starts rising again.  “I’m gonna stay right here with you,” but no change.  “When I can I’ll go see our daughter.”
“Oh, she’s got you whipped.”
“I’ll take it, because I get to see her smile.  Posie, as long as they let me, I’m staying with you, but when I can see our precious flower.  I’m going to her.”
________________________________________________________________
“They kicked me out,” Jax says almost giddily.
“You were back there for a long time,” Ransom says quickly, and Jax smiles even bigger.
“What?  What does that mean?  It’s good.  My baby, she’s okay?” Iris asks walking closer to Jax.  “You did it?”
“Not out of the woods.  She’s stable.  Her brain activity is crazy.  She moved.  She...her blood pressure would raise, if I said something she didn’t like.  She’s in there.  She didn’t like when I said I didn’t want to leave, but I promised I’d go see Daisy.  Iris, I want you to go with me.  Posie wants her daddy with her when I’m there.  She’s responding Grumpy.”

“Squeakers,” Jax looks at the exhausted Posie, hadn’t left her side yet. The two of them just watching their daughter as long possible, until it came time for her to get settled back in her room. “I know you’re tired darling.”
Posie looks up at him with a bit of an annoyed face and shakes her head no, “Yeah, you are,” reaching up to his hand, she pulls a finger down to the daisy ring on her left hand.
“Mine.”
“You’re ready to become my wife, huh?” she gives him a solid nod, and mouths out a yours. “How about this, I know it’s a quick impromptu wedding,” he looks over to a nurse quickly, “if we brought her a white dress, could she wear it?” while Posie’s eyes shine up at Jax, the nurse answers with a tearful yes.
“Okay, Squeakers, your dad is going to come in here with you, while you rest, and your mom and I are going to get a few things together.”
“Ree,” she takes a deep breath before whispering out a, “Lo, Az…”
“I’ll make sure all your aunts can help, Ree is a bit preoccupied with a baby,” Posie mouths out an oh. “Daisy is older by a few hours though.”
Posie looks around the room, before back at Jax, “Oak, Pop,” tapping at her throat, Jax lifts the straw to her mouth.
“I don’t know how many people they’ll let in there. I wanted to be in NICU, so Daisy could be there. Grumpy and Lovie could hold Abie,” he stops and watches her cry. Posie has always wanted a wedding with all her family there. “Posie, we’ll have another wedding darling. This is…Squeakers don’t cry,” the nurse clears her own throat and Jax just looks towards her.
“It’s not uncommon for people with brain injuries to deal with depression, and she just had a baby. So postpartum depression can be a factor as well,” Posie throws her hands up. And grips tight to Jax arms. “I know you’ve gone through a lot. Why are you getting married?” she points at Jax. “You love him, and you know it was difficult for him to be back here with you?”
“Yes.”
“I know it’ll be hard, but have your closest family,” Posie shakes her head no. “You have a big one, but, instead of them being here, maybe they can add something to the small wedding? And then, when the time is right, you’ll have the most beautiful wedding. Your whole family can be here. So I’m guessing mom and dad?”
“You,” she points at Jax.
“I’ll be there, Squeakers.”
“For you?”
“Um…I don’t need anybody as long as I have you. Papa and Kitty will be there right,” Posie nods but responds with a mine. “You’re all I need.”
“You.”
“Opie and Chibs, I guess. Maybe Bobby. They love you. Pappy, Gigi, Pop Pop, and Pummy,” she nods with tears in her eyes. “Okay, let me get your dad in here, and I can see what we can do for our wedding.”

“Lo said this should fit her. She was saving it for a after the wedding, party dress for her. Yes, my wife new you two would be getting married,” Blade lays a dress in Jax’s arms. “Arleigh and Poppy made a flower crown for her. Poppy and Stella picked out the flowers from Mom and Dad’s garden. Here’s clothes for you,” he lays some jeans and a button up in his arm next.
“And this,” he holds up some mousse and a comb, “Harry said to find Carter, and let him do something with that mop on your head. His words not mine, and…” he reaches into the bag and holds up a camera, “Somebody better video this. I don’t care if it’s a nurse. You’ll want to remember this moment,” he slaps at Jax’s arm and the younger man looks at him.
“No, you two just need to realize that Story, Az, Lo, and mom will get their bigger wedding. They’ll take what you want into consideration, but they’ll want it bigger. They’re a bit jealous mom gets to be there,” Blade takes a big breath, looking over the young man that is officially about to be family, “Thanks.”
“For what?” Jax looks at Blade confused. Still he feels he’s the reason for all of this.
“Giving her reasons to fight through this,” the blonde regretfully smiles but Blade shakes his head. “You did. I know you don’t see it now, but those kids and you…you’re what pulled her through. We’re lucky to have you. Regardless of what you think.”
“Thank you.”
“For what?” Blade asks for a smile.
“For what you and Jake did.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Blade responds with a wink.
“And for giving me a real family. After the brotherhood, I had Opie. We were both a bit lost. None of you guys ever made us feel unwelcome. Well, James wasn’t the most happy. Carter at first. But you guys welcomed me in your home and life. Trust me with your kids. And now I’m part of this huge family, and I can’t keep up with everyone, but thank you,” Blade nods his head as he walks out the. Jax takes a deep breath and goes to drop off Posie’s things with Iris for her to get ready while he heads to the maternity ward.
________________________________________
“Is this normal behavior?” Jax asks Carter as he peers through the mirror into Story’s room as she walks around the room with a nursing Illiana.
“That’s her seventh. She’s pretty good at having them now,” Carter combs out Jax’s hair. Sliding a gift in front of him. “It’s not a wedding gift. This is more for you. Story got one for Posie. We’re both big believers in the power of scent. Story fell in love with me because I smelled like her dad.”
“Did she really?” Jax asks opening up the box of Tom Ford cologne. “No, this is too much.”
“When will you quit fighting me and Story on what is too much?”
“How much are you worth Baizen?”
“First off,” he smacks him in the back of the head with the comb, before straightening his hair back. “That’s rude. Secondly, only she can call me Baizen,” Story walks in handing over the settled Illiana while she looks over Jax. Grabbing his cologne to spray him. “Ain’t that right honey?”
“Yes. That’s my Baizen. And don’t ask how much we’re worth. It’s rude. I got some food sent to the estate. I hope it’s not weird of us to watch the video of your wedding and have party food?” Jax shakes his head no as Story straightens out his jacket. “I see what Posie sees in you. Never imagined my sweet, delicate little goddaughter niece would fall for the bad boy,” Story looks up at Jax and then over to Carter.
“I don’t know what we would have done without her. We were serious about buying this hospital to get you back there. I know true love, and you and Posie…meant to be. She’s one of the best Jax, so I’m only going to tell you this once, you take care of our first daughter. When I was fifteen I had this scenario in my head of how she was mine and Carter’s real daughter. She was my first daughter, and…it took me and Baizen five tries, but we finally got our own. And now it’s like Daisy is apart of my Irish twins. The Irish triplets. She’s stubborn, James thinks it comes from us, that’s him. She won’t like living at the estate, but we always have the pool house, and it might make a few kids upset, but I know how much you two love that tree house.”
“Uh…I’m sorry, it wasn’t planned. I really do apologize,” Jax stutters out and Carter looks at the two of them confused.
“Don’t apologize. This one used to climb up my tower and spend the night in my canopy bed every night. We were totally just ‘sleeping’. He made me wait too. Slept together before we actually slept together.”
“Story, change this flow of conversation, please. That is our niece’s…change it.”
Story pats at her husband’s arm and kisses Jax’s cheek. “I mean to say, that bad things happen when people try to mess with true love. Your story is different than ours, but you know that to be true. I’ve always had your back, and that little baby that my King holds is how I talked him into having your backs. Go change my niece’s last name, and make her so happy.”
Jax gives both a smile before walking out the door, but Carter stands mouth agape looking at Story. “What does that mean?”
“Remember our little ‘argument’ about Jax from the doctor when I got cleared for sex again?” Carter nods his head. “And I told you that him and Posie would get married, so you needed to quit acting like James?”
“Well, yeah, I’m not following.”
“And I told you, if you would let it go, you could try to fuck a baby in me before we made it home? We dropped Iclynn off at mom and dad’s because we had to run an ‘errand’? We made it to the driveway before you were crawling over me. And now look at our sweet little princess. Your rose petals can talk you into anything can’t she.”
“Sorceress. That’s what my rose petals are. By the way, I got asked about that picture.”
“Don’t put paintings of my vagina behind your desk.”
“It’s my rose petals, Story! You can’t even tell it’s my pussy,” she intakes a deep breath, but Carter shakes his head, putting a finger over her lips. “Do not call me ridiculous. I get compared to your dad enough as it is.”

Iris helps Posie get into her dress, with a nurse’s assistance. And they both stare at her with watery smiles. She goes to brush out her daughter’s hair before placing the flower crown on her head. Walking back to the front, she swipes on some lipgloss before nearly losing herself to tears at how beautiful her daughter looks.
“How are you a mother and getting married?” Posie jokingly rolls her eyes but smiles up at her mom. “You know how much you were wanted, right?” Posie gives her a nod of her head, and points at the wheelchair.
“It’s nice you not being able to talk much. Other than wanting to marry your dad, I have never wanted something more than you. I always thought I would have a house full of babies. Life had different plans for us. And if it was only just you, it would have been more than enough. Your dad and I always pretended we were having babies when we were kids. And then when we were in high school, the talk was more serious, and how to prevent it until we were ready. But we always talked about our first. We both wanted a girl. Both wanted you named after Nana. And a flower name. But it was your dad that suggested Posie, a bundle of flowers. He always said why have one, when we can have all we ever wanted with one baby. He’s such a sap, but he’s the best. He was so worried about saving you from the heartache we endured, he was blind to how much you and Jax love each other. And now…” she picks up Posie’s hand and gives it a tap.
“Now our baby is grown. Became the best mom to a little boy that needed you. Fought for her man. As close as you and your dad are, I knew when you bucked up on him, how much you loved Jax. Posie you don’t have to kiss a bunch of frogs to find your prince. It’s rare that your first love, is your true love. He’s a good man, baby. He’s going to be a great husband and dad for you.”
She reaches around her neck taking off a heart necklace that she got thirty-two years ago from James. “No,” Posie gets teary. “From daddy.”
“I know. Your neck looks bare. Don’t worry, I’m not giving it to you. It’s your borrowed. Flip the neckline of your dress down,” Posie does what’s asked of her and looks back up to her mom. “It’s the shirt that your dad had on the day he met you,” Iris wipes at her eyes, shaking her face quickly. She had saved that shirt just for when Posie would get married.
“Just so happens it’s blue. And…there’s more than enough for your big dress that Ree is going to make you wear. Now come on, let’s get you married with the sweetest flower girl I know.”
__________________________________________
Jax walks into Posie’s room with the biggest smile on his face, and as soon as she spots him, he sees it in her eyes too. They both know, while not the most ideal of situations it’s exactly what they want. What they both knew was going to happen, so why not now. It’ll definitely be something they won’t forget.
Carefully he helps the nurse get her in a wheelchair and the two struggle not to look at anything but each other. Posie reaches to give Jax’s hand a squeeze, “Handsome.”
“You like the hair?” she gives him a little nod, “Carter fixed it. Are you wearing the perfume that Story got you?”
Jax takes a big whiff and somehow they smell even better together. “Daisy.”
“I know. We’re going to see her. She’ll be at our wedding.”
“No, she means the perfume,” the nurse giggles. “It’s called Daisy.”
“Perfect,” with an open up of the door, Ransom is the first to greet Jax. Shaking his hand and patting his back. Jax looks down at his hand quickly once Ransom is finished and he gives a smile to the older man, who holds a finger over his mouth.
With Chris already in place, Jax and Posie give kisses to Abel. He grips tightly to Posie almost afraid that if he lets go he’ll lose her again.
The family takes their place by the window; Ransom, Kitten, James, Iris, Steve, Marta, Frank, Sugarplum, Abel, Chibs, Bobby, and Opie. All smiling dopily at the family, and when Posie sees her small little daughter, incubator decorated with daisies she already begins to tear up.
“So, let’s just get this straight, I’m ordained, I’m not a professional. I don’t think there’s a soul here who wants to deny you to this union,” Chris turns to look at the window, eyeing more at James. James just laughs throwing his hands up in surrender.
“Okay now that’s over. Posie I know your throat is still raw, so you say whatever it is you need to say.”
“Mine,” she whispers out, giving Jax’s hand a squeeze. “Love my Jaxy,” her hand pats at her throat. Between the already raw throat, combined with her emotions constricting it even more, she struggles to say more. Just grabs Jax’s hand to place at her heart, “Yours.”
“Posie,” Chris wipes a tear off his face, “for just five words, that was beautiful. Jackson, beat that.”
Standing up is too far away from Posie, so he kneels down to look at her. The most beautiful and perfect woman he’s ever seen. He knows he doesn’t deserve her, but he’s not fighting anymore.
“Squeakers, I didn’t know that this shy girl I met when I was a senior in high school, would lead me here. All you could do was squeak out words at me, unless we were in class. You captivated me with how smart you were. While that wasn’t our time, I couldn’t stop coming to see you in that little cheer uniform. And then you saw me. You never looked back. Nana told me that night that you were my future, but it would have some trials. I thought your dad was it.”
Posie reaches up to his cheek and wipes away his steady flow of tears. “We’ve been through it. But I always had hope. Always knew you would make it through, because I knew you wouldn’t leave me and definitely not our kids,” Posie shakes her head no, and gives Abel a quick wave.
“This isn’t our perfect wedding Posie, except you’re with me. Our daughter is alive, our son is smiling, and our family, while not not all of them, are smiling through tears. You are mine, and I will protect you every day of our life. How many people get to see their girl wake up from a coma and one of the first thing she wants is to get married? I get to say that Posie Sarah, and you my beautiful wife are so strong and brave. The strongest.”
Jax leans forward to give Posie a kiss, but Chris clears his throat, “Rings man.”
“Oh right.”
Posie grunts up at her uncle, “No rings.”
Jax reaches in his pocket and pulls out two rings, and Posie looks over at her Papa and Mimi who hold up their empty ring fingers.
“We needed to get new ones anyways. Do you know how many wedding bands we got? They’re just a symbol of how whipped I am by your Mimi,” she smacks at his stomach, but he only chuckles. “It would be an honor for you and Numb Skull to wear our bands.”
“Let’s keep this simple,” Chris wiggles his shoulders around and pops his neck. “Put the rings on.”
“Real simple Pin Cushion.”
“You know, old man, this girl was sleeping beauty and is ready to be married. Pipe down ya old coot, and let’s get these two hitched,” the of them two slide each other’s rings down their fingers just beaming at the other.
“By the power invested in me and yada yada yada, you’re husband and wife, kiss your girl Jax, but don’t touch her head,” he gets another glare from Posie. “You’re sassier since coming out of a coma. That is what the doctor said, no touching the head. Brain injury, P.”
With a roll of her eyes she looks back at Jax pointing at her heart, “Yours,” with a point at his heart she says, “Mine,” before leaning forward to give him a chaste kiss. And with a look at Abel and Daisy she whispers, “Ours.”
“That’s right, Squeakers,” Jax stands to walk towards the window, “They’re both ours,” he puts a ringed fist up to the window and Abel bumps his into it. Moving to the incubator, he gets a head nod confirmation, before he bumps his fist into Daisy’s. “Now, little flower. We need you to get strong, so mama and daddy can hold you. Posie Teller,” Posie beams up at him. “Whew, that sounds nice, Squeakers.”

You knew it was coming, Harlan had been slowing down more than usual. His usual nickname of 'Ransom Blade' was just Ransom. Even your husband had refused to go into work. Staying next to his bed the whole time. "Ransom, where's the little Ransom?"
"You want me to go get him?" Ransom chuckles, fiddling with a Go stone.
"I want all of them."
You give Ransom a nod, and go to get all the kids. Iris nearly refusing to go in there. She just stood still with tears in her eyes, rubbing her big round pregnant belly. "Mama, I can't."
"You need to. You'll regret it."
"It's too much. I just can't," she begs you with her eyes, her head shaking back and forward.  It’s been too much that she’s been through in less than a year, and you don’t want to push her.
"You're not a child, and I won't make you. But you need to say your goodbyes," Story holds tightly to your hand as the other kids walk in with you, except for Aster. She holds her hand out to Iris, who takes it in her own. Aster's hand presses up on the growing Posie, as she leads the two in.
Harlan just stares up at Blade. Your son, nearly grown. Taller than his dad, but the spitting image of him. "Ransom," Harlan chuckles. "you look just like your daddy, you know?" Blade laughs through his tears. "I'm so proud of you. You're going to do amazing things, but you've got to stay out of trouble. Okay?"
"Okay, grandpa."
"My feisty one," Harlan points at Aster, "So much of your dad's sass. Don't settle. You deserve the world. I remember meeting you and Iris for the first time. Such beautiful babies. I hadn't seen one in so long. Your daddy was so happy and proud. You two saved his life," he looks over at Iris, tapping the side of his bed for her to come closer, "My sweet angel," holding his hand up against her bump. "You'll see him again. Death couldn't keep that boy from you. You're going to be an amazing mom. You had the best teacher. I have always looked at you as mine. You protect that baby, like your daddy protected you."
"I love you grandpa," Iris responds through her tears.
"Kitten," he laughs looking at you. "Thank you. For my Ransom, for my grandkids. You saved all of us. You showed a broken man what love was. Gave him the life he wanted and all the kids he could ever want. Where's my little one?" she peaks her head out from behind you. "Stay you're crazy and conniving self. Ransom, son, I haven't told you enough, but I'm proud of you. Proud of the man, husband, and father you’ve become.  Keep them safe, love on them everyday, because life is too short.  My sweet little dreamer," Story never staying too far from Harlan gets his hand pressed against her cheek. "Tell me a story."
"I can't," she cries holding his hand on her cheek.
"You have to. I want your voice to be the one that puts me to sleep."
Story clears her throat, looking at her dad and then at you, "Remember those baby dragons in the wall?" he nods his head. "They had magical powers. I thought they were to harm the castle, but they weren't. They're going to protect us once the mage is gone. They've been growing, and learning. Now that they can fly, they've left their nest in the walls, and they circle the castle. You hear them?"
"I do. Story, one day he'll come," he looks at her with a sad smile. "Don't always be looking for Prince Charming. You'll have your trials and tribulations, but the one that always sticks by your side, even if it's in the dark, that's the one. In the dark of the night, he'll be your light. You believe me?"
"I do."
"Finish your story, my little dreamer," Story continues to tell her tale of the protecting dragons, adding in her embellishments, still gripping tightly to his hand when his eyes drift close. You try to pry her hand out of his, but she just holds steady.
"I love you," she whispers, giving him his final forehead kiss, before going into Ransom's arms. "I want to sleep with you tonight."
"Okay, baby. I just need a moment with mom," you grab his hand, guiding him away from everyone. You know your husband is needing his own form of comfort. His own moment to melt into a carefree life of a child, and you have no problem with helping him cope.

Hii! These will be a huge time skip but can you write a drabble like Aster or lris's first time periods?
You can totally ignore this if you feel weird, I'm sorry😣
No, this is great! I had to do some math to figure out how old Blade and Story would be. We're going to say that Aster and Iris are 12, Blade is 9, Story is 6.
Code Red

You could see the minor changes in your daughters.  Changes that their dad and pops refused to see.  Anytime you would bring it up to them, they would try and change the subject.  Noticing the blemishes that started to line their hairline.  Ransom’s remedy was the best skincare.  The slight weight gain, their dad got them bigger clothes.  And even their changing bodies.  Ransom ignored that all together.
“Ran?” you ask, getting a quick hum from him.  His body leaning towards your side of the bed, “I had the talk with Aster and Iris.”
“What talk?”
“They’re changing,” he furrows his brow confused.  “They’re turning into little ladies.  They’re probably about to get their first period, and...”
“Why would you say that?”
“Baby, it happens.  Last I checked, you know exactly how it works.  I don’t get pregnant, I bleed.”
“Okay, but that’s you, not my daughters,” you roll your eyes whispering a ‘you’re ridiculous.’  “Those are my babies.”
“And girls get their periods.  It’s coming.  And I want them prepared.”
“I’ll let you deal with it.  And when Blade starts spending more time in the shower, I will hear nothing from you,” your head flicks over towards him.  “That’s right, kitten.  Your sweet baby boy, is going to be a disgusting pig that can’t think of anything but...”
“Hugh Ransom Drysdale!  He is a baby!”
“How do you think I feel knowing that you let Carter and James come over to the estate all the time?  Do you realize how many hidden rooms there are here?  If James takes Iris behind a tree, I’ll kill him.  And Carter fucking Baizen, you know for his birthday his parents got him a new watch.  That’s just like mine.”
“He adores you Ransom.  Leave the poor kid alone.  Of all people, you should feel empathetic towards him.  He is basically you, growing up.  Goodnight.”
“Wait a minute.  Are we not...”
“I’m on my period.”
“I don’t care,” you roll over to look at him.  “What?”
“One day, you’re going to have four women in one household all on their period.”
“Do not bring Story into this.”
“Even that tiny little...” you stop talking when those little knocks on the other side of the room happen.  “Come on Storry book,” she opens the door, crawling in between you and Ransom.
“You better be glad you weren’t in the mood,” he whispers over at you.  Story, clinging tightly to you.  Her little fingers curled around his ring finger.  Your hopeless romantic child.
___________________________________________________________________
Aster was the first one.  And of course, she was a drama queen, and you were nowhere to be found.  Story was running around the estate in a panic looking for you, “Mama!  Ma-ma!” her little legs opened up every door, until she was right in front of Ransom.  “I need mama,” she pants out.  Grabbing a hold on her knees she doubles over.  This little Story book is just as dramatic as Aster.
“What’s wrong?” Ransom asks walking closer to his daughter.
She takes a deep breath, trying to catch her breath, “Aster is distraught,” leave it to Harlan to ensure a six-year-old knows colorful words.  “She is in danger,” Ransom grabs his daughter’s hand to get her to guide him to her, “It’s been such a difficult day for her.  This morning she was grasping tightly to her stomach, and then...daddy, I think someone stabbed her.”
“What?” Ransom stops to kneel down to look at Story.
“She was bleeding!  Do you think that the Black Knight found her?  He has been trying to climb up the tower and take her.  I haven’t found Prince Charming, so it’s possible.  When I find Prince Charming, he will protect our tower.”
“Story, enough with the dramatics.  What’s going on?”
“I told you!  She has been stabbed and is bleeding.  You’ll have to act as her savior.  Let me guide you to the tower.  Follow me!”
Ransom follows his littlest daughter to the west wing of the estate.  Aster is pacing around the room, and she gasps when she sees it’s Ransom, “No.  I said mom!”
“I couldn’t locate her.  So, I brought the king of the castle,” Story stands behind her dad to push him in.  “Show him where you were stabbed.”
“NO!  Story, out.  You too dad, I want my mom!”
“Angel, what’s wrong?”  Ransom sits on the bed, and sees the dirty laundry, and grimaces.  Aster sees where he’s looking and screams.  “I’m sorry.  Your mom, she warned me this was coming.”
“Oh.  My.  God.  OUT!  Get out!  I want my mom!”
“Angel...”
“Daddy, I don’t want to talk about this with you.  Out!”
“Do you have what you need?”
“OUT!!” she screams, stomping her foot.
“Sheesh.  I brought the King of Boston, and you’re screaming at him?  Come on daddy.  We must find mama.  Don’t worry, Az, I’ll locate the Queen of Boston!” she drags her dad out of the room.  “Let’s...daddy?”
“Can you give me a minute?” Story huffs out air, but starts to look around for you some more.  “Azzie baby?”
“I just want mom,” she cries on the other side of the door.
“Story is on the hunt, can I come in,” she opens the door for him, stomping back over to her bed.  “Do you need me to do anything?”
“Find my mama?” she pouts leaning over on her dad.  “She said she would be here for me when it happened.”
“She’s here somewhere.  No doubt the Princess of Boston will find her.”
“Could I not have gotten a letter that said that I wasn’t pregnant?  Why do I have bleed?”  Ransom bites his tongue, the thought of his daughter getting pregnant right now, is not what he wants to talk about.
“Your mom likes ice cream or fresh baked cookies.”
“Does that help?” she asks.
“That helps her.  Let me go get you some.”
“Can you just stay here with me?” he nods his head, wrapping an arm around her.
“What else helps mom?”
“Well...” he stops, that is not something he will be discussing with Aster, “Nothing.  You’ll have to ask her.”
“You started to say something.”
“Jumping on the bed.”
She turns and glares at him, “I hate you right now.”
“You asked.”

Iris on the other hand was shopping with Mary, Frank and his wife.  “Pops, I don’t feel good,” she starts when it’s just him and her.
“Oh, uh, do you uh...think it’s...”
“You can say period.  And yes.  I think this is a code red.”
Frank tilts his head looking at her, and then begins looking for one of the women that’s with him, “I don’t even want to know.”
“It’s easier to call it Code Red because Az is a drama queen.  She milks it.”
“Okay, what do you need me to do?”
“Nothing.  I got stuff in my bag.  Actually.  I’ll be right back,” she walks into the bathroom, groaning.  She had hoped that this part of life would just skip pass her.  “I hate this,” she whispers to herself.  Knowing that with James being her ‘boyfriend’ a word she isn’t allowed to say around Ransom, that you’ll be giving her another talk.
When she walks back to the table, Frank just sits still looking around, and finding no one.  “Pops, it’s fine.”
“So, you’re good?”
She squints her eyes at him, “It’s code red.  But I’m not Aster Drysdale.”
“Oh good.  Do I need to take you home?”
“You can take me to get ice cream.  Ooh, a double doozie sounds good too, maybe some salt and vinegar chips.”
“You’re not pregnant, are you?”
“Oh my god!!  Pops, I am a virgin!”
“I was kidding.  That’s just a lot of different...”
“Cheese sticks!  You know what?  Take me home.  Mom will get me all the food and won’t judge me.”
“That’s fine.  I’ll let Sugarplum know I’m taking you home.”
“Pops?” Frank turns to look at Iris.  Realizing she’s not this little bitty baby anymore, “Were you this awkward with Mary?”
“You’re the last girl, and... there’s that little boy.  I think we need to talk.”
“POPS!  I have only kissed James,” she grits her teeth looking at him.  “That’s a lie, I didn’t say that.”
“Iris Jade!”
“Mom saw it!”
“This day just got weirder.  Let’s just...I’m letting your mom deal with this.”
“Can you not tell daddy?  James won’t be allowed at the house.”
“Where did you kiss him at?”
Hoping in the car, she buckles, and looks at him confused, “The...lips?”
Frank’s face falls.  “I meant where?  At the estate?” she nods her head, “Where?”
“I’m not telling you, you narc.  You’re worse than Blade.  That kid can’t lie to save his life.  And you will go straight to Ransom Drysdale, and tell him that his baby girl was kissing James Rogers on...you just about got me.”
“Let me get you home.  Let Ransom and your mom deal with you kissing self,” he laughs, but she just stares at him.  “Was it good?”
“The first time was weird.”
“The first time?”
“Ugh...he’s, my boyfriend.”

We all know Ransom and Kitten jump on the bed still and what if they have a pregnancy scare. Lol just a thought.
OH MY GOSH!! So Ran did get fixed after Lucy BUT he never went back to make sure it took, and of course why would he tell Kitten? But could you imagine that this scare happened while James was MIA, because somehow Kitten and Iris switched pregnancy tests?

You walk back into the bathroom to check on the test, not believing what you see. Your kids are too old, Lucy was supposed to be the last, and then Ransom was supposed to be fixed. Supposed. "Son of a bitch," you know he's the problem. "Hugh Ransom Drysdale!"
"Kitten? Why are you..." he stops seeing you hold that test in your hand and he starts to freak out a bit, but is also okay with this. He gives a warm smile, and you shove at his shoulder. "What?"
"You saw it," you hold out the test to show him, and get even more pissed off with that smirk. "Are you fucking kidding me?"
"What? It's not like that we can't afford it."
"Lucy is six years old. Iris and Aster are twenty. We don't...stop that," you push him off you, but only slightly when his smiling face starts to wrap his arms around you. "We don't need another child."
"Why not? This is great."
"Ran," your voice so whiney, but it actually turns into real concern, "You're almost fifty."
He pushes himself off of you to look at your face, seeing the tears, "Hey, it's okay. So what I'm almost fifty. I'll celebrate my fiftieth with my hand resting on another bump."
"But you're fixed. You don't think..."
"Eh, we were extra careful that time. Not possible," Ransom's hand smooths down the side of your face. "But you're fixed," he looks up at the ceiling twisting his head back and forth. "You're fixed right?"
"I got snipped yes."
"There's a but somewhere. But...what?"
"I never went back to make sure that it took," you smack at his shoulder again. "Ow, that hurt."
"You asshole. Ransom, we've been having unprotected sex for the past six years, and you don't even know if it took? You did this on purpose."
"It's been six years, Kitten. Look, I would never do this on purpose, I just didn't think it was that important to go back. Hey, look at me," he lifts your chin up to look at him, "Even if you are pregnant, we'll get through this. Another kid isn't going to hurt us financially, we've done it a few times before. At this point you're a pro. How about, instead of being pissed off at me, we make an appointment and go to the doctor, okay?"
"You are being really sweet baby, but I'm still mad at you."
"Later I'll let you ride me so you can take your frustrations out on me."
"You're ridiculous!"
Ransom pulls you into his lips, but before he kisses you, "You love jumping on the bed with me. I'll be kind and make it last longer with that blue pill."
"I love getting old with you, baby."

Iris falls down on the bed with Aster, and she looks at her twin traumatized, "You're going to hurt the baby!"
"Would you shut up! I'm not pregnant. The test was negative."
Aster turns to look at Iris like she gave her the biggest lie. Smacking at her boob, she laughs when Iris grabs it wincing dramatically. "Uh huh. When was your last period."
"You smacked my tit," she smacks at the other one and Iris groans more. "Ouch."
"I barely touched those big ole titties. They were never that big," she pulls up her shirt and sees the bloated belly of Iris. "Let me guess, you ate a big lunch."
"I did."
"You didn't. In fact, the smell of the avocado made you sick. Av-o-ca-dos, that's not known for a strong smell. And you love them. Wait!" she stands up to walk in her bathroom and pulls out her stash of pregnancy tests, throwing one to her. "Take another."
"You just have pregnancy tests laying around?"
"Well, I've had a lot of sex and partners," she shrugs, "I wanted to make sure. They were always negative."
"Mine was too," Iris throws the test back at her. "Don't you have a boyfriend or something to go to?"
"No. Take the fucking test Icy." Iris starts crying, her hands rubbing along the swelling. "Quit torturing yourself. If you're pregnant, it's James', the love of your life."
"But he's..."
"He's coming home. And when he does, you can tell him you're pregnant. Take the test," Iris takes a deep breath but goes into the bathroom. Excited, scared, and saddened all at the same time. Laying down the test she goes to walk away, not even wanting to see the negative symbol. She almost wants it to be positive, wants to share this with her sister, because if anything happened to James, she would have a part of him in their child.
Aster grimaces at her sister when she stands, even she isn't sure what the best outcome would be. She gasps when she sees the positive sign, and Iris's hands go to rub along her stomach, knowing what that gasp is. "He's here with me."
"You're okay?" Iris just nods her head through her tears. "You gonna tell mom and dad?" again she just nods her head.
"I need to tell them all. Pops, Steve, and Marta too."

Dr. Fisk looks between you and Ransom shaking his head, "It must have been a false positive. They're not impossible, not as likely as a false negative. And tell me why you didn't go back and check to see that the vasectomy took?"
"I mean, she's not gotten pregnant in six years. I'd say I'm good. We have sex regularly."
Dr. Fisk looks between the two of you knowing that you two are almost always drowning in the other. "I still need a sample. Just to ease your wife's mind. I'm sure everything is fine."
He walks off to get a cup, and Ransom gives you a look, "No. I am not giving you a hand job for your sample. You're going to a different room."
"You ruin all the fun, Kitten."
You can't help but thinking that the test wasn't a false positive. Your mind running through all the possibilities. Overthinking that where you found the test wasn't where you had left it. "Did you see the test?"
"Yeah, when you handed it to me."
"So you didn't move it?"
Ransom gives you a dramatic questioning look, "Why the hell would I do that? I would have been screaming, you know I would. My goal was to always keep you full of me."
"You've done a very good job of that, baby," still something feels off. You would never voice to Ransom that you had thoughts of it being one of the twins. Iris you wouldn't be surprised about, and it might actually be nice to bring some happiness, especially since the baby would be James'. Aster scares you. Her living with her boyfriend terrifies you. She's had worse boyfriends than Scott, but you know nothing about him, other than he's a lawyer and you don't have the best opinions on them.
"Kitten, what's wrong. You're in your head."
"Nothing, just thinking of how it might not have been terrible, if I was pregnant."
"I mean..."
"If you say that you can fuck a baby in me, I'm smacking you again. No more babies, Captain."
